Why? Was Secret Rings a side-scroller? You could move backwards in every other side-scroller Sonic game.

I actually liked the controls for Secret Rings.  The only problem I had with it was moving backwards.
that's everyone's complaint.

Exactly this. I thought that Secret Rings was really fun once you started upgrading your stats, also, it's probably the best/second best Sonic game this gen, but when you see what it's competing with...well...does it really look like an achievement? XD

in Secret Rings, Sonic only moves forward with the camera locked behind him. you hold the Wiimote NES style and tilt it left or right to make Sonic shift over to that side. to back up, you have to turn the Wiimote up towards you, which the game doesn't read very well at all.

i enjoyed Secret Rings very much, but it's not a game i'm going to play any more. i'll stick with S3K, thank you very much.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

I also didn't like having to do missions in order to progress. I don't mind it, but it sometimes got repetitive.

Otherwise, yeah it's fun.

Yeah, I looked up some screenies. It looks like an interesting game. I never usually go backward in the 3D Sonic games, anyway. Maybe it's a Wii title I'll have to check out.

Only because discs weren't good to the Blue Blur. Discs don't read fast enough to keep up to Sonic's speed. Sonic Team admitted they needed to drastically slow Sonic down from Sonic Adventure on.

Wii & DS. While I have monstrous backlogs for both libraries, I still would like to get one or both of the other home consoles this gen. Unless of course more things set out for the glorious PC Gaming Master Race. 8D

I thought Sonic Unleashed for the 306/PS3 was pretty awesome myself.

+1. I'm only irked by certain design decisions (QTEs in general, but using them for successful long jumps are still abominable in my eyes), but otherwise it was solid.

I do admit it and agree. Sonic Adventure 2 was the last good Sonic game I've played. I haven't gotten a chance to play Sonic Unleashed, Secret Rings, Black Knight, or Sonic the Hedgehog, though. From what I've seen and read, though, the controls are beyond broken in Sonic the Hedgehog.

I have to admit that Black Knight did strike my interest. It definitely looks unique and fun. I don't mind those kind of oddball games, so long as they're fun and not annoying to play. I'm looking at you, Sonic 3D Blast. X(

I usually remain neutral until I play a game for myself. But, hey, people play a lot of bad games and they remain popular. Any EA sports game, Wii Sports, Halo 3...
