Eva's has a huge cult following fanbase, but it's still nowhere near the gundam franchises. They are building a Tetsujin-28 (?) statue though.
Well that was a pointless endeavor then 
I mean, I can understand why taking it down for various reasons, but what's the point or purpose of it now? Are they going to lay it down horizontally instead of having it stand up straight? Is it being moved to a museum? Was the money used for the thing completely wasted?
The reason for it only being up 3 months was because It's a fiberglass model with a steel frame inside. With the changing weather, it would have been destroyed and eventually topple over. Also, the area of the park was pretty much destroyed because of it. If you look at the shots when it was taken apart, they killed the [parasitic bomb] out of the grass.
