You know honestly, I wasn't going to post the new numbers in here mainly because I thought that something like that would be better suited for analysts and people who actually use the data elsewhere. I also thought the info wouldn't be relevant to us as straight gamers on this site. The last reason was mainly because I wanted everyone to know how momentous an event last NPD's numbers were.

Still for all intents and purposes, the consoles did well for the situations that they were all in. Also, Mario Kart DS is a beast. XD

Well, to be honest, I just posted it because last month was a total Nintendomination too (making it relevenat to the topic =P), both in hardware and software sales.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

It really makes me wonder why so many people hate them as a company when I read things like that. Ah well, as long as there are games with that particular Nintendo charm to be had from them, I'm happy.

Funny how neither Sony nor Microsoft have many (if any) first-party games, and certainly none with the icon-status that Nintendo games have.

It's also funny how one of the only companies with character legacies that could rival and challenge Nintendo's chooses to cash in on them rather than keep them in that iconic status. (SEGA)

Oh, I don't know about that, there's...

umm...

That one company...

...

Yeah...

...okay, no, I guess not. Konami, Capcom, and Square-Enix are the only ones that come close.

And actually, Sega's only got Sonic left. NiGHTS died with the mediocre reviews of its new game. Nintendo has multiple icons (Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, etc). Capcom has Ryu, Chun-Li, and Mega Man (classic). Morrigan is arguable. Konami's got INSERT BELMONT HERE and a few other good licenses I can't seem to recall.

Haven't you heard? The Wii is killing gaming, or something XD

Question is... how many people continue to use Wii Fit for more than 15 minutes? Not to defend Halo either since I really find the whole series boring (just don't care for shooters), but we're looking at billions of games served.

The thing is, after the units are sold, Nintendo could care less. They've sold enough units to middle-aged women that will try in vain to use this as a serious work-out aid, and that's good enough for them.  8D

True, once they get their money, a company doesn't really care much unless serious defects... ones that can trigger lawsuits... arise.
