X / No Love for x?
« on: October 28, 2010, 06:11:54 PM »
Maybe not all of us fans enjoy X but I do enjoy X as a character as well as the games he appears in. Most of us like X but it seems like most people enjoy Zero and Axl more. Why? Because compared to those two guys who just kick maverick [sonic slicer] and take names, X's pacifism just seems to make fans irritated at him especially with limitless potential and all the power he has. I know Zero had always been meant to be the main character but X is a well developed character just a s Zero is, he starts off as an insecure, young man who struggles to find his purpose in life to a mature adult, true leader and hero to all. I like X but it seems like most fans seem to enjoy Zero (and to some extent Axl) more, it doesn't help that X's character wasn't handled properly in X7 and the whole virus plotline is used almost too much in the series. I basically answered my own question but does anyone still think X is interesting?

X / Why does everyone hate Mega Man X6?
« on: October 17, 2010, 03:27:54 PM »
I do agree that the game needed to be worked on a few places and the levels could had been designed way better but it is quality game and it gave us a proper ending to Zero's story. Or it would be a proper enidng if Capcom didn't screw it up for us by bringing back Zero in X7.

X / Why hasn't technology caught up to X?
« on: September 27, 2010, 07:38:13 PM »
X has been dubbed the most advanced and powerful reploid (he's actually an advanced robot) in the series but why hasn't the technolgy of series caught up X? X is not only a powerful battle robot but he is also capable of human empathy and compassion in any level. So why didn't the humans learn from their mistakes and give their robots more maintenance like X did? It would had avodied a lot of problems in the X series.

EXE / Is Battle Network good as pokemon?
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:03:10 PM »
I like the ballte network games but one thing bothers me, was the series every bit as good as the series that it was competing with? Pokemon does have sequelitis bit yet it still have quality titles and the same coul be said of battle network although BN4 and 5 left a lot tobe desired. In the end, was battle Network as good as Pokemon.

Rockman Series / Fire, Ice and Elec Why does Capcom like this so much?
« on: September 03, 2010, 03:29:19 AM »
In both Classic and X, you had boss A vulnerable to weapon B and you acquire Boss A's weapon to defeat Boss C. Ever since since the Zero series came along, it seems like most bosses are only vulnerable to a certain element instead of the usual acquire bosses weapon and the ranks do not help matters either. Does anyone else wonder why Capcom only stuck the Guardian designs and the elements instead of the usual mega man fare?

X / Is Zero that much more interesting X?
« on: August 14, 2010, 03:11:07 AM »
I read some posts on this and other forums and it seems that X isn't really all that interesting to most fans. Zero is just a generic badass dude with a 'mysterious' past and a game breaker power that can destroy the world but X had always been meant to be the main character technically. Zero had always been a part of the Spotlight Stealing Squad, a large majority of the events in series had to with Zero even when X was the lead character of his own series. Zero had his own series finally the way is was supposed to be originally but Zero is basically a post apocalyptic story where he saves the day from a tyrannical X or his copy. My question is to other people of RPM, is X not an interesting character despite the development he gets in the series?

X / The true extent X's power and capabilities
« on: July 17, 2010, 10:05:11 PM »
I had seen walls of text (especially Zan's and Hypershell's posts) concerning X's limitless potential for growth in the games but wha is the true extent of X's power? We all know that X was created with limitless boundless potential, as shown in the games for example Megaman X6 x had some trouble with High Max but later on he was able to beat him with ease. Antoher example is in MMX1 and 3 with Vile respectively. In the first game he was barely able to beat Vile with his rider armor in hand, X still could't defeat the Ride Armor and it took the sacrifice of Zero later to destroy the Ride Armor while X recovers from almost instantaneously. In X3, X was able to defeat Vile and his new Ride Armor Goliath two times in the games despite the all improvements Vile made on the machine but most of all, he was able to curb stomp Vile himself in the same game. Dr. Light created a powerful robot and it amazes me how strong X is but what is the true extent of his poiwer?

Zero / Zero series: Why was it so successful?
« on: July 16, 2010, 05:04:35 AM »
I wonder why the Zero series was so successful compared to other series? If Sega were to create a Shadow the Hedgehog series or even Kuckles series of games, it wouldn't worked out to well yet Zero who supposed to main of the X series ends up successful. Why is it easier for the X and Zero series respectively to go darker and edgier while some concepts that try it simply fail?

Rockman Series / Why does every MM game have boss re-fights?
« on: July 04, 2010, 04:08:55 AM »
Exactly as the title says why do most Mega Man games have you refight the bosses? I know it is a tradition in the Mega man games sereis but it has also bugged me that you have to face the very same booses you just beat earlier.

Off The Wall / Could my life be more awesome?
« on: June 26, 2010, 03:46:38 AM »
I wonder if its too late to do something fun in my life? Lately it feels like I could be going out there doing something but I trapped myself in my own house. I had yet to learn driving, land a job even though I am searching and money is not my friend nowadays but after seeing a few posts I realize I am not missing too much. Is there anyway to make my life more awesome?

Gaming / Do RPGs need complex plots?
« on: May 06, 2010, 12:20:27 AM »
Most RPGs I know of are at there core are ‘save the world’ arcs where you have to get such and such Macguffin to defeat some evil overlord dude or some cosmic horror but there is also some like Xenogears, Xenosaga and Shin Tegami Tensei where the plot is so complex you need to play all three games to figure it out or you will get lost. While mosts JRPGs and WRPGs have a huge backstory in from of them, there are games like Earthbound and Paper Mario that show yoiu don’t necessarly need a complex storyline to be a fun game. My question to the RPG fandom is, do RPGs really need complicated plots to be good games?

Gaming / Can sequelitis be a bad thing?
« on: April 02, 2010, 06:39:43 PM »
I enjoy playing games a lot especially when they come up with a sequel that is better than the original but can too many sequels and prequels be a bad thing? I am a Mega Man fan as much as anyone on this forum but the quality on some games leave a lot to be desired although your mileage may vary this. I know the adage, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" but at the same I was kind of expecting more for my buck and even some sort of deviation from the norm. Some are just plain terrible in a lot places that could had been avoided if they paid more attention to the game itself but they are human and video game business is still business. Can having too many sequels going on every year be bad especially if thew quality is stagnate?

Original / Everyone hates Quint
« on: March 22, 2010, 01:35:00 AM »
Why Inafune or some of the Mega Man fans hate Quint? He is mega man from the future who was brought to the past and rebuilt to fight Mega Man and was alter retconned into Rockman Shadow but still does the InafKing really hate him that much?

Original / Why does Capcom like Guts Man so much?
« on: March 06, 2010, 03:23:34 PM »
How did Guts Man turn from just that boss in MM1 to an internet meme that features his glutes? Guts Man was just a boss in MM1, he reappeared in Mega Man 2 as Guts Dozer, there was a huge Guts Man like robot named Gamma, Stone Man looks like a skinner version of Guts Man, the a quite a few enemies in the games with his jaw and Guts Man appears again in MM7 as a new and improved Fortress Boss. I have to ask and with a bit of curiosity as to why Inafune likes Guts Man so much? Is it his design, his jaw or just that ass?

Rockman Series / Do you see a future similar to the Mega Man series?
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:54:53 AM »
As technology grows more advanced, we find new possibilties as well as new dangers with the new technology that has been created. While Mega Man may be a fictional universe, does anyone here see a future of super powerful robots or sentient computer programs in the future?

X / Maverick: Misnomer or Justified term?
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:45:46 AM »
In the first few games Mavericks simply meant Reploid criminals who attacked and terrorized humans due to either a flaw in their design or the being infected with the Virus but as the series progressed, it soon began to permeate into Reploids who defy the government or other political opponents who had been unjustly caled mavericks. It soon kind of got to a point when Neo Arcadia rose to power and began to mean who considered to be anyone who suspected to be an enemy of Neo Arcadia, even if the accusation was false. After playing Mega Man X4 and Command Mission, I have to wonder what exactly is the deal with the term "Maverick" anyway? Prior to Zero joining the Maverick Hunters and the advent of the Maverick Virus, the "Mavericks" rebelled out of their free will or merely due to flaws in their design as Dr. Cain couldn't fully replicate x's design very well.

That is not to say that all the bosses in series were merely virus infectees, some like Vile were looking were just looking for opponents to fight while others were political opponenets who wanted to liberate the Reploids from their human oppressors. There some innocent victims during the Maverick Wars such as Dr. Doppler who manipulated by Sigma into creating a brand new battle body for Sigma while creating placebos to spread throughout Dopplertown, under the guise that he had found a cure for the infected Reploids. Repliforce rebelled against the humans due to large misunderstanding that cost countless lives that could had all been avoided if they simply complied with the Hunters but they would rather fight than lose their pride and was thus called Maverick. The Rebellion in Command Mission simply rebelled out of their own free will and the desire to create a world for Reploids. Even Sigma merely used the Virus to help Reploids explore their full potential, however it is important to note that the Virus has been known to bring out the violent side of Reploids.

I don't understand how Gate, Repliforce, the Resistance (Zero series), Dr. Doppler and others can be Maverick if they were victims in some way in the Maverick Wars? Can the term "Maverick" be a misnomer or is it justified in some way?

DASH / Is Megaman still a robot or what?
« on: February 07, 2010, 05:55:59 AM »
I am sure this question had been asked before but is Rockman Volnutt still a robot? I know that in MML2 they tell the story of how the Megamen included have the ability to turn themselves into Carbon based lifeforms but when we see volnutt, he still looks like a robot and he can upgrade his "buster" into other weapons. So is volnutt still a robot or is he simply wearing a robotic suit?

Zero / What is the Elpis TK series?
« on: December 01, 2009, 04:04:02 AM »
Can someong give mroe information Elpizo and the Elpis series of Reploids? Are they supposed to be government Reploids or what? I always thought that Elpizo was just some Reploid who worked within the governement and held a grudge for being screwed over by the state but after reading some posts on the something called the Elpis TK31, I am inclined to believe it is something more. Can someone tell me what it is?

X / Robot Prejudice: Has this been explored in the X series?
« on: November 01, 2009, 04:48:12 AM »
A recurring theme in the series is that Reploids are striving for independence or to be at least be recognized as equals but the humans see the Reploids as nothing more than tools. The Mavericks are Reploid criminals who wreak havoc on humans and other Reploids for no other reason than to cause trouble, making it difficult for Reploids to be taken seriously. Are Reploids in the series discriminated against? I know that world may have still had old wounds from the Wily Incidents that reopened when the Mavericks attacked and the humans may even to this day despise all robots because of it. Has this theme of prejudice, distrust and political implications of free thinking Reploids has been explored in the X series?

Zero / Is Zero still cool?
« on: October 09, 2009, 03:51:28 AM »
I watched a video on YouTube made by some kid who asked a similar question to this but I wonder if anyone else here still finds Zero cool? Zero was designed to be this cool robot who fights alongside you in the game but was supposed to die a heroic death as X1 only to be revived in X2. He gets back with a beam saber adn he starts being cool again until he dies again in one X3 ending but somehow mircaloulsy survived by the time X4 came and he was supposed to die again in X5 (in that crappy boss explosion no doubt) in time to tie the game in with the new Zero series that the InafKing was designing but once again Capcon trolled and gave X6 although it had a proper ending to Zero and Zero is revived again. Now we have the Zero series where once again Zero is cool to a new generation of gamers however Zero already made an appearance in the EXE series as Zero.EXE and Blues/ProtoMan.EXE already looked like Zero already complete with his own saber so why did Zero have his own series again? Oh wait, he died for real in the Zero 4 and this time he is dead yet he somehow get a Zero expy in the form of Girouette and Model Z. I still find Zero very cool despite his numerous "deaths" and cameos but does everyone else still find Zero cool?
