Here in PA, we get storms, hurricanes that travel up the coast and skirt the Delmarva peninsula, tornadoes that usually hit Lancaster and York counties, and lately... earthquakes.

Yes. Earthquakes. Caused by a layer of diabase boulders a mile underground that're subjected to extreme pressure and explode.

Sit in your chair and shake a bit. That's generally what an Earthquake feels like. The bigger the earthquake, the more shaking there will be. That being said, being in a bigger earthquake may result in things falling off walls and shelves.

Waking up to one in an interesting feeling, though.

Where I live has sandstorms. I don't think its harmful, but if the day is so hot, it can scratch you with sand particles and heat, might be to death. You might need a scarf to close your mouth. There are less rain here but there's rain now. Its like a miracle. So, this place is safe but you have to stand the heat and the desert. There's not alot of entertainment but this city is growing.

Poinsettia is an obvious one. There are prolly others, but I'm not sure. My cats chew up houseplants quite often with no ill-effect, so most are apparently harmless. Including flytraps as my cats have eaten those, too.
