Many years back, I created an Ace Attorney "fanfic". Not the stupid cheesy kind, just one that's supposed to feel like the games. This was way before I even thought about RPing.
I wrote it down, rather than typing it out, but I decided to type it now. So, without further ado...
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Honor in Justice
Turnabout Reunion
(Before...)
Judge: Hmm... I have reviewed all the testomonies and evidence. The court hereby finds the defendant, Damian Ruth... NOT GUILTY
Damian: ... Wright...
Phoenix: ?
*dashes across the room and hugs him*
Damian: THAT WAS SO INTENSE! I thought my life was over for sure! I'm so happy it's over!
Phoenix: (I would be even more happy if you let me go...)
- Monologue -
Phoenix: Damian Ruth. One of my high school buddies who had an interest in judicial justice before I did. One year ago, I defended him in a case on a framed murder charge. That was the first time I saw him in 8 years. Little did I know that this wasn't going to be the last time I became involved with Damian.

Part 1
12:43 p.m. February 9
Wright and Co. Law Office
Maya: Nick!
NIIIIIIICCCCCK!!Phoenix: Ugh, what is it, Maya?
Maya: Watch this with me! The Steel Samurai is fighting Shou Golden-Claw, the diabolical Samurai-turn-rogue mastermind!
Phoenix: Huh, can't believe they still show this on TV. I guess little kids still like it.
Maya: *pouts furiously* Nick! This show has everything! Love, betrayal, suspense and high-octane action! This is not just some dumb kids show!
Phoenix: (Yeah, I got it, Maya... for the 30th time you said that...)
Maya: Oh, and look at this.
*Steel Samurai Event poster added to the Court Record*
Phoenix: A Steel Samurai event?
Maya: Yep! I try to make it to every event they hold.
Phoenix: Seriously, what's the point? They have the same activities every time. Not to mention you have tons of autographs from Will (the actor who plays the Steel Samurai).
Maya: *grins* You can never have too many autographs, righty Nicky?
Phoenix: (N-Nicky...?)
Maya: Besides, it's a good distance away. You need the exercise.
Phoenix: *sigh* Well, I don't have any cases at the current moment. Guess it couldn't hurt.
Phoenix: (Not like I could talk her out of it, anyway...)
2:00 p.m. February 9
Sam Doulin Museum
Phoenix: So, this is where it takes place? This building is pretty huge.
Maya: Of course it's huge; it's a museum. But I thought there would be more people here. Maybe we're early?
???: Greetings, one and all! The Steel Samurai event will commence shortly, so please enter the room to your left to meet with the other Steel Samurists!
Phoenix: ("Samurists"? Who is this guy?)
Maya: Come on, Nick! Our chariot awaits!
Phoenix: (Maya sure is extra chipper today. Though her running around a museum with priceless artifacts like this probably isn't a smart idea...)
Phoenix and Maya enter the room; Maya stands in awe.
Maya: Look at this! The Red Kunai throwing daggers used in episode 37, the Orb of Lies, the emperor cloak, the Sword of the Seven Stars and the Platinum Samurai Armor used in the battle against the Dragon Mage!
All displayed here in this room!Phoenix: Wow... should I be impressed that you remembered all this? Or frightened?
Phoenix: *he notices a silver slip of paper on the floor and picks it up* It says, "Time Slot: 6:46 am (Feb 9) Sam Doulin Museum - access permitted -- Security Check"
???: I apologize for the wait. Now onto the event tour! However, I should let you know that Will, unfortunately, reported that he's unable to show up for today's event due to a last minute meeting with his producer.
Many people from the crowd groan out.
???: Do not despair, Samurais! I, Sandy Bridges, will be your loyal and humble guide throughout this tour!
Phoenix: It's getting pretty busy in here. Guess I'll hold onto this slip of paper for now.
*Security Check slip added to the Court Record*
Phoenix: *sigh* How do I always manage to get caught up in Maya's "adventures"? Speaking of which, where is she?
Phoenix spots a door to the next room cracked open. Opening the door, he sees Maya staring blankly at him. Glass littered on the floor, seemingly from the broken glass case on the stand. A man lay unconscious beside her.
Maya: *with a shaky voice* I... I didn't...
Phoenix: W-What happened here?!
A woman looks towards the room, curious, she steps inside*
Woman: Oh my...!
Maya stood there, perplexed, shaken and terrified. The life was drained from her face; nothing but shock and disbelief was left.
Sandy: What's going o-- Young lady! Did you do this?!
Maya: Huh? N-no, there was someone else here. He escaped through that window.
Sandy: *crosses his arms* But that window is too high up for a person to escape through.
Maya: I don't don't know how he did... Maybe he used a ladder?
Sandy: Yeah, right. Do you see any ladder here? Young miss, you stole the Incan Jar that was in that glass case! Didn't you?!
Maya: What? No, please, I didn't...
Phoenix: Hold on a minute. Maya couldn't have stolen the jar. Does she look like someone who would go on a robbing spree to you?
Sandy: Hmph, you should know better than anyone that looks can be deceiving, Mr. Wright.
Phoenix: You know me?
Sandy: Naturally. You've been all over the news in recent times. The great Phoenix Wright and his acute performance in the courtroom. But, I'm afraid you won't be able to defend this time. It is clear as crystal that she stole a precious artifact! I'm calling security.
Phoenix: This isn't right! You can't just--
Maya: Nick... it... it can't be helped.
Phoenix: Maya...
Maya: There's no proof that I didn't take it...
Phoenix: (Proof... that's always what it comes down to in the end. Law cannot be upheld without substantial rules and evidence.)
Security guard: What happened here? Who did this?
Phoenix steps beside Maya, as if to prevent her from being taken away.
Maya: Nick... it's going to be alright.
Phoenix had not even noticed that he stepped beside her. Must have been a reflex, he thought. He couldn't let anything happen to her.
Sandy: That girl right there is responsible *he says as he looks at the guard lying on the floor* As well as assaulting an officer!
Security guard: Alright, miss, come with me.
Phoenix: I can't believe this...
He watched as the guard escorted Maya out of the room, and Sandy called for an ambulance.
Phoenix: (Mia... I couldn't protect her...)
The young attorney looked at his playground; the scene of the crime. Once everyone cleared out to join back with the Steel Samurai tour, he gained permission to search the room.

Part 2
--Examination--
Phoenix: Hm, Maya said that the thief might have used a ladder... maybe a step-ladder? Nah, I can't judge things based on cultural assum... wow, even THAT'S growing on me. Regrettably, I miss that... anyway, I better get to checking around this room.
*examines chair*
Phoenix: Just a normal chair, although the carvings look rather complex. Come to think of it, we've been using the same chair for years back at the office. Maybe it's time for a change.
*examines broken case*
Phoenix: So, this is where the jar was. Was there really only one guard here in this room? Maybe the museum should focus on hiring more guards. Still, something isn't right; shouldn't breaking the case sound the alarm?
*examines metal beads*
Phoenix: These look like beads. But, what are they doing on the floor next to the broken case? Hm, I'll hold onto these.
*Metal beads added to the Court Record*
*examines top window*
Phoenix: It's kind of hard to see up here, as the window is so high up. Hm? There's a bit of blood on the wall here, near the window! Is it possible that the thief bled when he escaped? This could be the key to wrapping up this whole mystery. I'll use a napkin and take a sample of this. Maybe Detective Gumshoe can take it to the police precinct to be analyzed.
*Added blood sample to the Court Record*
Phoenix: Alright, I just about checked every corner of this room. By now, Maya should be heading to the Detention Center. I'll go there after I drop off the sample.
3:24 p.m. February 9
Police Precinct
Phoenix: Okay, now where's Detective Gumshoe? I only see some patrol officers and a janitor. He must be out right now. I'll come back later.
3:59 p.m. February 9
Detention Center
Maya: ... Nick...
Phoenix: (Maya still looks shaken, but more calm than the last time I saw her. To think this isn't the first time she was a suspect must bring up some tough memories for her...)
Phoenix: What's with the long face? I thought you'd be at least a little happy to see me.
Maya: Nick! This isn't the time to be joking around with your fancy little words! I... I was scared...
Phoenix: (Boy, I sure do pick the worst times to crack a joke... wait, "fancy little words"?)
Phoenix: *clears throat* Maya, can you tell me what happened back at the museum?
Maya: Well, I don't recall every single detail, but I was wandering around around the tour room, looking at the Steel Samurai props like everyone else. Then I noticed that one of the doors in the room was cracked open...
Phoenix: Around what time would you say it was?
Maya: Sorry, I'm not sure... I would guess we were only there for about 30 minutes.
Phoenix: I see. Please continue.
Maya: I peeked inside the room because I thought I saw a someone running inside. When I tried to stop him, he escaped.
Phoenix: So, the thief had already broken the case and stolen the jar, correct?
Maya: Yes. But, I didn't get a good look at his face, since he turned around.
Phoenix: Back there, I recall you saying that the thief "probably used a ladder" for his escape.
Maya: That's the only way I can think of... The window was really high up.
Phoenix: (So, if he tried to escape, he would have a difficult time reaching the window.)
Phoenix: Did you notice anything else?
Maya: The only other thing I noticed was the guard unconscious on the floor, one feet away from me.
Phoenix: Anything about the thief's appearance?
Maya: Well, I noticed that he wore a brown coat, with two white stripes on the back.
Phoenix: (Uh, yeah, you could have mentioned this detail in the first place...)
Maya: But, there was something strange about him. Just when he was about to jump outside, it looked like he hesitated.
Phoenix: Well, I mean, he
was jumping down from a high place.
Maya: I don't know... somehow I feel like he didn't want to go through with robbing the museum.
Phoenix: Either way, this guy stole and assaulted an officer. And
you were blamed for it.
Phoenix: (Thinking about it now, that Sandy guy was a little suspicious. He was a little too quick to jump the gun on Maya... Maybe I'll have a little chat with our dear tour guide)
Phoenix: So, I'm guessing the trial is tomorrow?
Maya: Yeah. I noticed Detective Gumshoe wasn't here today. He's usually one of the people in the Interrogation Room.
Phoenix: Hmm, speaking of the Detective, I better go look for him.
Maya: What for?
Phoenix: *grins* I may have this case all wrapped up.
Maya: Heh, looks like cocky Nick has entered the room!
Phoenix: (It's likely that Edgeworth is the prosecutor for this trial, so I hope that cockiness holds water)
Phoenix: Alright, I'm going to see if I can find out more about this person.
Maya: I'm counting on you, Nick. Screw up and I'll cast a curse on ya. Courtesy of the Fey clan!
Phoenix: (And she says that with a sly smile on her face. Note to self: Mediums are psychopaths, prepare to book a plane if I lose this case)

Part 3
5:03 p.m. February 9
Police Precinct
Phoenix: I wonder if Detective Gumshoe is finally--
Gumshoe: Whaddya mean, "I can't buy the slinky"?!
Officer: It's just as I said, sir. The chief doesn't think it's appropriate to have around the office. He knows how... distracted you get.
Gumshoe:
Why don't you grow a backbone and stop doing every little thing the chief says, pal!Phoenix: (Wow, Detective Gumshoe seems to be, uh... working hard?)
Gumshoe: Ah, it's you! Long time no see, pal!
Phoenix: Likewise. So, what was that little commotion about?
Gumshoe: Oh, you saw that? Yeah, I'm trying to save up enough money to buy a stainless steel slinky.
Phoenix: A... slinky?
Gumshoe: You know, that little toy that springs back and forth across the floor. It's like a toy that has legs, but it doesn't! It's crazy!
Phoenix: (Good to know the Detective likes to play with small toys when he's not tracking down a murderer...)
Gumshoe: Hey, don't give me that look, pal! Slinkies help me focus when I'm in a rut during an investigation!
Phoenix: (Detective Gumshoe: Working hard, or hardly working)
Gumshoe: Anyway, what brings you here today? Don't tell me you need me to save you again.
Phoenix: (Um, "saving" isn't exactly the word I would use) Actually, I'm not staying long. I just wanted to know if I could submit this for analysis.
*Phoenix presents Blood sample*
Gumshoe: Hold on just a second there, pal! You can't just give me things willy-nilly and not have a reason.
Phoenix: Haven't you heard? There was a robbery at the Sam Doulin Museum a few hours ago. And Maya's the suspect.
Gumshoe: Whoa, whoa, whoa! You mean to say THAT Maya?!
Phoenix: (Naturally, yes. What other "Maya" would I be referring to...?) So, can you help me in analyzing this?
Gumshoe: Terribly sorry, pal... but that's not my area. Remember, I'm a homicide Detective.
Phoenix: (Gah! That's right... I've been asking Gumshoe for assistance for so long now that I forgot that "theft" isn't his department.)
Gumshoe: Tell ya what, I'll keep an eye on this case and let you know if anything pops up. Was there any murder involved?
Phoenix: There was only a guard there that was assaulted when the thief struck. I don't know his condition though.
Gumshoe: There might be a way to somehow link this guy to a murder, or he may be dead, as well. If so, I should be able to help you with your investigation! I can see it already:
"Phoenix Wright and Gumshoe - Case of the Marvelous Mysterious Museum Masquerade" We'll be the justice duo of the century, pal!
Phoenix: (... I'm starting to miss Maya as my partner already... But I have to admit, this "linking to murder" idea is pretty clever. Maybe those Slinkies really do help out a scatterbrain guy like him.)
Phoenix: Um, sounds goods. Thanks, Detective!
Gumshoe: No problem, pal! But first, I'm off to invest in this slinky at the store not too far from here. I hope I have enough money. These things cost a ton!
Phoenix: (You can buy them in mail order at $5... Just
where exactly is he
getting this from?!) *sigh* Anyway, I think it's time to pay Sandy a little visit. The tour should be over by now.
To be continued...I do have more, but I'll stop here until the next time, because this is quite a bit of reading. But yeah, I tried to keep the characters and atmosphere in tuned with the games.
I hope I did well enough.
