Yeah, I had to do remove those things too, but... I didn't really mind. It's not like I had to strip down or get frisked. Never had a license problem either.
I really wouldn't mind doing that anyway.

Well, I suppose we can cram ourselves into one hotel room. Dibs on the bathtub!
Does that mean we have to sleep on the floor and share beds?

I have to remove my shoes, any belts, hand over my wallet, keys, change, random bits of paper, I go through the metal detector, the full-body scanner, and they STILL find a reason to pat me down. :|

Word of advice: Put everything that is normally in your pocket in your carry on bag before you get to the airport except for your tickets. Once you're past security, you can carry it on you again. That's how I deal with it.

That sounds like a good idea to save time.

I also wear lace-less shoes when I fly as well. Easy to slip on and easy to slip off.

They'll no doubt still pull me aside for a random bag check and pat-down.  Apparently, I look suspicious.

As for my shoes... laces are not a problem.  I slip my shoes on and off regardless.

Personally I prefer train travel. Much more relaxing and I don't have to deal with the bullshit of airports.

Trains are too uncomfortable for me. At least when there's a ton of people anyway, like business days or when I was on my way to Comic-Con. I can't really relax when there's people crammed up close to me.

Airports may be frustrating, but the planes are smooth sailing and I don't have to worry about sudden stops or nasty smells.

Does that mean we have to sleep on the floor and share beds?

You would be like the only female there. The rest of the people in the room would be guys... I don't think you want that.

All this security makes me wonder if it would be more worth it to cross the border on land and take a train to NYC (which is 2500 km away and the nearest stop for passenger rail is nearly 200km away.) :P

Hold on a sec... you can't relax when there's people crammed up close to you, yet you like flying? The buses of the sky? Planes are way more cramp than trains. And my problem isn't so much flying, but rather if I'm going to fly. I've sat in airports for 9 hours waiting for my flight to take off at times.

At least when I'm leaving NYC, I can walk home if my flight is cancelled, if I'm flying out of LaGuardia

If I went to NYC again, I would sooner take a bus.  It's a four-five hour ride from York.

Flight is probably the only realistic option for those of us west of the Mississippi.

Co-ed is the way of the future, i get that it would probably be uncomfortable but none of us would try anything stupid.

Truth be told, I was sitting next to my sister and my mother the whole time I was on the plane. There were no strangers next to me, I wasn't interrupted by anyone and half the time I didn't even notice the people around me. I just reclined back and feel asleep while they had the in-flight movie playing.

I assume you flew by yourself? Perhaps that's why your experience was different from mine. I didn't feel cramped because I was already used to the people with me. And everyone else was in front, back, to the right, etc.

However, if I recall, a couple of times the guy behind me kicked the back of my seat for some reason. That's the only time I had any real discomfort.

As for the airport, yeah, the waiting can be hell.

Nah, I think we should wait until we get to 1,000 pages. It would be an incredible feat.

He'd make another stupid thread questioning why people like to stare at naughty pictures.

I'm surprised he lasted for as long as he did with his special blend of idiocy.

It was that special blend of idiocy that kept him around.  It was unlike anything we had ever seen.
