Hello everyone. There aren't a lot of too too recent posts here, but I figured I'd make a topic to ask if everyone is doing ok with the pandemic going on right now.

I swear I vividly remember then breaking because I would skip them sometimes so I could go back and use then after destroying the rain machines. Hmmm. Maybe it's the Mandela Effect.

Hey, while we're on the subject of X6, I thought the healing pads in Inami Temple broke after use, but on my recent playthroughs they can be used repeatedly. Is this because I'm on Xtreme or what? Or is it a Legacy Collection thing?

Sorry for the double post:
Zero's Buster is all kinds of weird. How does the damage versus distance work, as well as y'all can tell?
Also, I asked this same question on GameFAQs and was surprised to find some responses there as well.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/516512-mega-man-x6/77680268
This one guy says for Zero Buster Plus will override Saber Plus. Could this be relevant, if true, to your testing, Hypershell?
Edit: Also, I forgot to mention, isn't Saber Plus supposed to be one of the parts included with Black Zero?

Whew, I was worried this board might be dead. Glad to see y'all replying so fervently and quickly.
So, Hypershell, you're saying Master Saber affects Saber damage? I always thought Master Saber was for learned moves and Saber Plus was for regular Saber attacks.
Also hi Vixy! *waves* I'm glad RPM is still kicking after all these years. It's one one of the best laid out and content full websites from that bygone era of actual fan websites.

« on: April 29, 2019, 09:22:07 PM »
I'm doing an unarmored X playthrough of X6, and Nightmare's take one charged shot plus 1 lemon. When I equip Buster Plus, they still take one charge shot and one lemon. The lemons change color from yellow to red, leading me to suspect that Buster Plus only affects the lemons. Does anyone know anythint specific about this?

Picking A Feast for Crows back up. I had kinda read myself to the point of being burnt out a year ago, and after the break, and especially with the new season of Game of Thrones out (at least the 4 episodes that leaked) I'm totally all about getting back into it. I'm about halfway through already anyway, and then it's onto Dance of Dragons and my favorite characters Tyrion and Jon!

Off The Wall / Re: Latest Buys
« on: April 27, 2015, 01:11:13 AM »
I bought myself a few fun things yesterday. Nothing super exciting. I got a nice thirty dollar set of PC speakers, which are getting harder to find these days. Who'd've thought to look at Office Max?
I picked up some walkie-talkies for a purpose that requires a bit of explaining. My gaming set-up is in my garage, mostly so I can smoke weed and play games simultaneously. No cell signal can penetrate my garage's super shield of plywood and rippled steel. I just got out of jail for failing a drug test on probation (uh-oh spaghettios) and am on house arrest for 2 months. Soooo I had to figure out how to receive phone calls in the garage, in case they give me a random call at night. So I got some $20 walkie-talkies. I dunno when the last time anybody had nice walkie-talkies was, but these things are tits. Anyway, I can't smoke in the meantime, because I'm about fed up with this whole probation thing (all because of a DWI from way the [tornado fang] back in 2013), but at least I can sit out there and play some games. I have a few unfinished RPGs to work on, namely Chrono Cross and Shining Force.
When I get some loot I wanna grab some SNES repros to play, namely Final Fantasy V, and maybe a hack of 6 too.
I also picked up a new trade paperback copy of A Feast for Crows, because $10 is easily justifiable when I'm simply too lazy to find my other copy. Besides, now I have both arts, and that's a win in my book.

Gaming / Too Many Games 2014
« on: January 18, 2014, 10:43:59 PM »
http://toomanygames.com/
Has anyone heard of this or been to this? I've gone maybe 3 or 4 times in a row now. It's awesome. It's a bunch of tables of people selling cool old retro game stuff. I walked away with cool stuff every year. Got like 7 Master System games for $8, a second DreamCast which was supposed to be able to run burnt games according to my research on manufacture dates, but couldn't (Oh well, can't have too many DreamCasts), and lots of other cool things in the years I've attended.
They also have a lot of craft type things, like bead pixel art. There's a guy selling Lego statues. There's another guy selling large paintings that are way too expensive for my budget, and the best ones are never actually for sale. People making hats and plushies, and all sorts of stuff.
There's a section for TCGs, with binders of MtG, YuGiOh, and other cards.
There's a bunch of arcade cabinets set on freeplay.
There's a bunch of representatives from board game companies demo-ing their stuff.
There's live bands and stuff too. I never cared enough to see the X-Hunters, but this year Random will be there. HeavyW8Bit was a favorite of mine, and I see DJ CutMan there every year. DJ CutMan does the DJing, actually, and if you wanna listen to his stuff before you buy it he'll DJ it into the music for the whole place on the spot lol.
The first year I went the bar was open, but I guess not enough nerds bought beer, because I haven't seen it open since.
They have pretty much every system imaginable lined up so you can test your [parasitic bomb] as soon as you buy it. I think I couldn't find a Master System last year, though.
I highly recommend, if you're shopping, to bring anything you can test stuff with that's portable. I now have one of those portable Super Nintendos, the SupaBoy, and it's invaluable in finding out whats fun, what's not, & what simply is too much Japanese menus.
I picked up a lot of cool Super Famicom stuff there. All 5 DBZ games. Contra 3, because who needs to read that anyway. Super Mario Kart and Kirby Super Star.
If anybody's in the Philly area or can be there, I highly recommend giving this a look. I know Quickie and PB are close enough to feasibly drive.
I'm very excited to be going again this year. I schedule my trips home to Pennsylvania around this, rather than Christmas, lol. I keep getting more and more of my friends into it to go with me. Not sure who's all coming this year, but I know for sure my friend Cheyenne is all about it.
Last year we did Too Many Games and a sweaty rave at SoundGarden Hall in the same weekend. We went straight from the convention Friday night to the rave. I really, really regretted not getting a stuffed Mega Buster to wear at the rave.
Edit:
The kinds of stuff they have gets much more obscure than I mentioned. They have all kinds of Neo Geos and TurboGrFX stuff too. One of these years I'm gonna pick up a Neo Geo Pocket or a WonderSwan because WHY NOT. One guy sells modded GameBoys. 2 kinds. One with screen light installed, the other with a slo-mo button. The latter is for music purposes, which I don't do, but is really cool.
Here's heavyw8bit if you're curious. I love him.

When I saw him there he was selling his synthesizer cartridge for NES, which used 4 controllers as it's controls. I want it bad, but it wasn't in my budget at the time. He won't be there this year though.

I kind of have a lot of respect for Sonic not giving you rings for the final bosses. But it'd be better balanced with infinite continues.
Yea, Ninja Gaiden 3 has limited continues, and I think the number of them is arbitrary and not shown to you until it just flips you the bird with the Game Over.
I wanna pick up Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, but at some point in the future because of its hefty pricetag of about $120. I wonder if 3 on that is like the American one or the Japanese one.
Unfortunately patches don't do me any good, since I don't have the means to mint my own cartridges. I have a few custom cartridges, though, that I picked up at my now favorite convention in the world, Too Many Games. I have Super Back to the Future in English on an American cartridge, a Super Mario World hack, Mega Man The Wily Wars with functional battery, and some Sonic 2 hack with no ending, just 6 or so stages (still fun, albeit easier than the original game). I think that's all of them. Last time I went I was out of money on Saturday, came back Sunday, and what I'd had my eyes on had sold: A Link to the Past: Parallel Worlds. This year, in June, hopefully I can get that. The custom carts are my new favorite thing about the convention.

Random's gonna be there this year! I'm about to go make a thread for this elsewhere.

I misplaced my copy of Ninja Gaiden for the moment. I had had two, but I gave one away. The gift that keeps on giving.
