I disagree about Corrin. There's far more to differentiate them from Marth, and I hesitate to call them broken. Given they do have quite a few great tools; their projectile is amazing, there's a lot of utility in b air, their throws seem really good. Otherwise, I was feeling a bit meh. It's really interesting that their sword does damage as you charge forward smash. It wrecks the cpu, but humans can probably DI out of that.

Bayo has to be a top tier. All the stuff she can do is bananas. I already love meteor smashing people with her down smash. Though I can't figure out how to make After Burner Kick aim downward.

They both have stall then fall down airs. Get ready to see spammers flock to them.

Also, the music selection from the Bayonetta games is stellar. I am [tornado fang]ing hype that the After Burner mix is in.

I didn't even realize the game was so close to releasing again. Either that's because of the frequent-feeling delays, or that buzz has all but stopped. Doesn't affect me either way. I can be patient, and this doesn't have a "Must Play Now" vibe for me. It'll be ready when it's ready.

I miss the days when the biggest localization issue anyone was worried about was Tharja's butt.

Camilla is going to get a curtain too. I guarantee it.

The new Pokémon in Pokken turned out to be Chandelure. Very interesting for a fighting game cause it doesn't have legs.

Before the new Pokken character reveal tomorrow, has anyone made a list of all the candidates with a "ra" in their Japanese name? Cause I did. And it's wild how many of them could actually work.
Metapod (lol)
Rattata and Raticate
Raichu (troll pick of the forever)
Nidoran F and Nidoran M
Vileplume
Paras and Parasect
Kadabra
Tentacool and Tentacruel
Slowbro (Mega helps I guess)
Krabby and Kingler
Cubone and Marowak
the three Hitmons (all easy picks)
Chansey
Tangela
Kangaskhan (has a Mega so it's likely)
Seadra and Kingdra
Scyther
Jynx
Gyarados
Aerodactyl
Cyndaquil and Quilava
Lanturn
Umbreon (it would be weird if this was the only Eevolution to make it)
Murkrow and Honchkrow
Gligar and Gliscor
Granbull
Heracross (would be an obvious pick, but it is in the background of a stage already so...)
Sneasel (highly doubtful cause we have Weavile already)
Raikou (I think Suicune is enough)
Larvitar, Pupitar, and Tyranitar (last one could work)
Swampert (we have the other Hoenn starters so why not?)
Mightyena
Silcoon (see Metapod)
Ralts (again, we have Gardevoir)
Sableye
Aron, Lairon, and Aggron
Electrike and Manectric
Plusle
Trapinch, Vibrava, and Flygon
Lileep
Snorunt
Spheal and Sealeo
Gorebyss
Relicanth
Luvdisc
the Latis
Groudon (too big?)
Luxray
Rampardos
Shellos
Drifblim
Bronzor
Chatot
Drapion
Lumineon
Heatran (too big?)
Giratina (too spoopy?)
Darkrai
Stoutland
Zebstrika
Timburr
Scolipede
Basculin
Maractus
Sigilyph
Carracosta
Mincinno and Cincinno
Solosis, Duosion, and Reuniclus
Vanillish
Galvantula
Tynamo (too small)
Lampent and Chandelure
Heatmor
Hydreigon
Larvesta
Terrakion (any Musketeer will work. I'd expect Keldeo the most though)
Reshiram
Landorus
Spewpa (see Metapod and Silcoon)
Flabebe, Floette, and Florges
Malamar
Dragalge
Tyrunt and Tyrantrum
Goomy (lol)
There were some others that are already confirmed to be supporters, like Jirachi. Also some of these do appear in backgrounds, but that doesn't necessarily discount them from being playable.

They did change Dedede's FS in Sm4sh. It's way more effective. His Side B being only Gordos is also much better than what he had in Brawl. I saw a video that beat Classic 9.0 with Dedede without customs or equipment. The Gordos absolutely [tornado fang]'d up Master Core.

Some notes on the new stuff:

- Cloud is not dubbed. Not that he has many lines, but they're all Japanese.
- He feels kinda halfway between Ike and Shulk. He's pretty mobile, but his attacks are kinda laggy. Not terribly strong, but still very effective.
- I've had a lot of opponents fall out of Cross Slash. Not sure if it's DI or what.
- His Up Smash has a worse hitbox than it looks. It only reliably hits above him.
- His forward smash is great. Down smash is okay.
- Charging Limit is pretty painless. You can cancel a charge by shielding out of it or pushing left or right to dodge roll. Cancelling is quick.
- Unless there are random CDs for it, Midgar only has TWO songs: the random encounter theme and the boss theme from FF7.
- Midgar is 8 Player Smash compatible, and summons won't appear in that case. Not sure if that's good or bad. I've only played on the stage once in Classic. I got Ramuh (pronounced Rah-moo apparently) and he lasted most of the minute I was playing for.
- When you beat Classic or All Star with Cloud, the Congratulations is styled after FF7's logo.

And once again, OCD trigger warning, I pray that the character select screen gets remapped at some point. With Cloud's inclusion, everyone has shifted one to the left. While it does mean all the Kirby characters are together on the second row, Zelda is now on the first row with Link, separate from the other three Zelda characters. Plus, the bottom row now has one less space than the other three. With two characters to go, one row will have one more space than the rest.

On 3DS however, all the DLC characters have been put into a sub menu like the stages have. That works better.

Oh god. I am super excited for Bayonetta. The stuff you can do with her in the game is gonna be nuts. I was totally banking on Shovel Knight or Shantae, but this is just as good. In fact, Bayo was one of my earliest predictions.

Can't complain about Corrin. At least they're not another straight up Lord. The dragon attacks make them stand out. I was kinda digging the Knuckles outfit. But why make Tails a gunner? Also lol Geno.

Not gonna lie though, I'm sad that Wolf isn't coming back. I still feel there was a lot to him that really made him stand out from the other spacies. Same that some compromise couldn't be made for Ice Climbers either. Don't get me wrong, having brand new characters is great too. But it stinks that old fighters don't always come back.

Wow this is a really nice surprise. I loved the original on 360, albeit it did have a couple little quirks. Be nice if they were addressed here.

One thing I would like when the Cloud update comes is customs for the DLC characters. Mewtwo definitely needs them, Lucas needs an alternative to PK Freeze, and it would be a cool way to fit in some other shotoclone moves onto Ryu.

The argument is that he does it both in the air and on the ground, though.
(also, think Marth's side-B)

He was never shown doing it on the ground.

I am 75% sure I saw him counter at some point. -u-'

Don't listen to him.

I count 5 games Cloud was in: Chain of Memories, re:Coded, both Theterythms, and the upcoming Final Fantasy Monster Hunter-ish game. I don't remember if he was in 358/2 Days.

Also did anyone else notice that Cloud's normals are mostly Ike's? Same for Final Smash too. Kind of seems like he's somewhat a clone character like Captain/Ganadorf Marth/Roy, etc.

I don't think they're that similar at all. I mean, obviously Omnislash is like Great Aether, but there are already a bunch of FSes like that. There are a handful of moves that are like Ike's, like down air and what I believe were neutral air and forward air (more on that in a bit). But everything else is completely different.

Before you bring up Climhazard, a lot of people assumed it's like Aether and Final Cutter in that it brings down the opponent after the initial hit. But look at the footage again. That part of the move only happens once. The other times Cloud only attacks upwards. So the downward part seems to be optional, like the second hit of Shulk's Up B.

Gamexplain just did a theory analysis of his moves. There you can go down the list and see. However, I disagree with a couple of their points. I don't believe Braver is a special move. I think it's his forward air. And the move in the air where he spins the Buster Sword around is his neutral air. As for what his fourth B move would be, I believe his Limit Break deal is a special move that temporarily buffs his other specials, kinda like Deep Breathing and Lightweight.

Picked up my Mewtwo amiibo at Best Buy. They had a few Fox on the shelf, so I snagged one.

Maybe just spell it Linkelle instead? I dunno.

Concerning TPHD, I wanna see more on how it controls. I think I saw three item slots like WWHD, and Midna was on L. I hope weapons like bow and Hookshot have the over the shoulder view from the Wii version. I liked that better than the 1st person view.

I was banking on Shovel Knight too. The fact he already has an amiibo was too much of a sign for me to ignore.

So just like how Snake cross-promoted MGS4? In that neither that or FF7's remake will be on a Nintendo console?

Yes. Ryu is in the same boat too.

Would have never expected SE to do anything with Smash in a bazillion years. (Poor Geno fans.) This makes sense for cross promotion of the FFVII remake, though.

And the salt is already pouring, and it's delicious.

I checked my nearest toys r us just now to see what they had. Far too late for the juicy stuff. But they had a bazillion Bowser Jr's and a healthy amount of ZSS.

I checked the Gamestop nearby and they had like 7 Retro 3 packs. I picked one up.

The skinny mushroom randomly comes up in place of a regular mushroom. But you can unlock it as a new item by beating the Nintendo World Championship levels. And to get those, just play 10 Mario Challenge a bunch.

At first my feelings toward the game were like "It's just a level creator. I can skip this." But the more footage I see, the more it's winning me over. There are already a bunch of fun and interesting levels people have made, and the game is still really new. Down the line there could be a plethora of fun levels, where no gameplay session is the same.

I'm not going to get it right now. I have other priorities. But down the line I'll get it.

Stratos you're thinking of.

In retrospect, most of the bosses weren't that difficult actually. The only one without a set pattern was Viper; I felt he was pretty random and hard to react to. Everyone else was easier to adapt. I remember not liking the fight with Jota, though, because he warps away all the time. Also, his desperation move pissed me off. The only way to dodge it without prevasion is to jump behind him. But he raises his sword up to do it, so you think that would hurt you. It doesn't.

The plot is far too barebones. That's why I still don't care to get the true ending. I finished the false final boss, saw the downer of an ending, and uninstalled to make room for Kid Icarus Uprising.

The game has so much wasted potential as a story.

Funny, I think of KIU as the opposite; story is fun, gameplay isn't worth it.

I echo Sakura's sentiments on hoping Gunvolt 2 improves a lot of what the first game had. The story needs more care, and there's some gameplay changes I'd like to see. Paramount for me is doing away with synthesis. Having to grind in a game like this is just not fun.
