After a while, outside the Petalburg Pokemon Center, there was a rush of wind as a Charizard landed.
Trak climbed off, helped Joe down, then praised her Charizard. "Good boy! Even in an unfamiliar place, with a good map, you can find your way around! I would've gotten lost if not for you, you are awesome!" She fed St. Elmo a Puff pastry and rubbed his chest, then recalled him into his ball.
Glancing at the door, she was hesitant to enter at first, in case Mr. Bonding knew a shortcut. The man always appeared in every town ahead of her back in Kalos, always talking about those creepy O-powers and inviting trainers into a hotel room to bond. Taking the Quick Ball off her belt, she let Runaway out. "Hey, could you do me a big favor? Could you go in, first, and look around? If Mr. Bonding is in there, come out immediately and we'll go somewhere else. Otherwise, I'll be in in a few minutes, okay?"
The Alakazam nodded, then pointed to Trak's bag. "Trompignon."
"Oh, sure," Trak opened her bag, fished out the Foongus toy, and handed it to Runaway. "Here you go."
"Merci," Runaway gave a short bow, hugged his Foongus, and went inside the Pokemon Center.
Trak stayed outside for a long moment, looking at Joe. "We'll give him a few minutes. If he doesn't come running out, it's safe."
