I know I will self-trade with myself to get all the starters...

But looking at all the Pokemon one can get just before the second gym... This has become a lot harder.

Also, thinking about pre-ordering.
Even though it will be about 3-5 bucks off normal price.

Oh yeah Clef your dream came true, Exp Share gives Exp to all Pokemon. You equip it to the battling Pokemon, your battling Pokemon will get the full Exp while everyone else gets half. So if your Pokemon gets 300 everyone else gets 150. I'm so going to abuse the hell out of that, which seems necessary since by the 3rd gym everyone is in their 30's.

Exp Share is a definite for me. I try to level everyone up equally, but I always end up with two that are ten-fifteen levels ahead of the rest of the team.

You know I think I actually don't need an Ice type Pokemon since Grass/Water and Fairy can do any job it can. Hmm what to fill it with.

Haven't figured out my team for this Generation, I know I had Charizard, Blastoise, Lucario, Hyperion (that's Rhyhorn's next form's name, right?), Sableye/Spirittomb, and Raichu as my members.

Well this time I'm going to make an ALL-STAR Team of Charizard, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Charmeleon, and Charmander. Sadly I do not know who would be a good 6th for that group... perhaps another Charmeleon that is LV100 and has a different moveset from the rest?

Anyway I'll definitely get a Fairy-Type Pokemon on my team, but I'm not sure. I'm not use to competitive play that much but it will be fun to level up my Pokemon! Sadly no Action Replay to get Rare Candies to power level them anyway, but the new Poke-Mileage where the amounts of your character walking is turned into points where you can buy Rare Candies with it! So a good alternative! ^_^

You know Mega Evolutions aren't a permanent thing and are only something that happens in battle, right? That's like having three Charizards on one team. That's goofy.

Per battle, ignoring the opponent's Mega.
So in reality, he has 3 normal Charizards in the overworld.

I'm more concerned with acquiring Mewtwo. I asked a friend if he could catch me a spare since he won a Master Ball that he can't transfer to X and Y.

Was there a rule stating you can use only one Mega in battle? As long as you have the item equipped to the Pokemon than they should Mega Evolve no problem.

The evolution only happens DURING the battle, if you CHOOSE to evolve it.
After the battle, it reverts back.

I'm actually glad for that. The "1 Mega" rule is effectively an enforcement of the old "flagship uber" style. The lack of any actual structure back in the day left precious few who would bother trying to find any middle ground between spamming them and banning them. We don't need the same thing happening to Megas.

Back in the day, my team was lousy. I relied on heavy-hitters, until I made a new team with Pokemon to support my heavy-hitters' weaknesses. I'm a bit better with building teams now, but Mewtwo tends to get a spot regardless.

He also gets Selfdestruct in his moveset regardless. Though, with the Mega Evolution, I may no longer need that, along with adding Psystrike to his arsenal. Back in the day, EVERYONE learned Selfdestruct. Basically, if I'm going down, I'm taking you with me!

I didn't know Mewtwo learned Self Destruct. Though I think Weezing is one of the best canidates for blowing [parasitic bomb] up.

Yeah, an exploding Mewtwo isn't very common, but I had one. That was a last resort tactic to bring down any hit sponges.
