I hope by the time Christmas comes around there is an option to buy the smaller 3DS. I won't mind an XL but I really wanted the smaller 3DS.

Ahh, Wii games purchasable digitally. Just what we needed! Metroid Prime Trilogy available at a reasonable price, [tornado fang] you gamestop!

Can't wait for them to do Xenoblade (so more people can play it), Fire Emblem 10 (So I can play it), and the other cool games that I missed, Punch-Out this month yes please.

EDIT: Europe's getting DKCR instead of Punch-Out next week (They're not getting it till later), and they already have Kirby's Return To Dreamland, Pandora's Tower (one of the rainfall games), and Sin&Punishment 2 planned out.

They're $20 but $10 if you buy them immediately.

Bit annoyed they're apparently forgoing the normal New 3DS in favor of just the XL.

As somebody who doesn't have ham for hands I have no need for the larger size and would greatly prefer to buy one that's smaller and cheaper.

So yeah, hate to say it but:

No normal New 3DS, No Buy!

I mean as someone who had the DSi XL this isn't so bad, but like I said I would have preferred the regular size. Again hoping that the regular size would be available before Christmas, it could be that they need to make more plates.

Even if they did make more plates, you still wouldn't get that many different ones. We only got about 20, and there is something like 50-60 in Japan. I ordered mine from Japan because I can't get them here.

February is going to be busy, with both the Zelda and Monster Hunter XLs on the same day.

Oh, btw guys: If you're trading up, keep your AC Adapter. It's worth the small reduction in credit, rather than buying one for 2, 3 times as much as you can save.

I'm really surprised they're pulling the "No AC Adapter" thing here, I know its like some law or something in Europe as to why they're not included but they gave us an AC adapter with the XL here even though other places didn't get one with it.

Holding out here for the normal one, I'll even buy it online if I have to.

As much as I would have liked faceplates, I decided to nab a Majora's Mask XL on Best Buy. Something tells me that they're not going to do a regular-sized model for the US anytime soon if they're pussyfooting around it now. If I'm wrong, Zelda merchandise would be easy to flip anyway.

Note: There is a "statement from Nintendo" floating around as to why the normal New 3DS wasn't announced but since the source of that is Kotaku and they also said some Amiibos were getting permanently discontinued I'm more inclined to believe they're full of [parasitic bomb] and made it up.

Here's what was "said by Nintendo" (Which is in quotes because I don't buy it because Kotaku.)

Well, IGN says that they got the same first two sentences that Kotaku did.

I think that if Nintendo had any real intentions of releasing the regular New 3DS in the US, they'd have made a "stay tuned for future announcements" comment somewhere. That's just my guess, though.

One more reason we HATE the region lock, I guess.

Well I don't trust IGN either since they also fed us that bullshit regarding amiibos being "officially discontinued" as well.

I'm not buying anything the news sites say, I'm waiting for official [tornado fang]ing confirmation from Nintendo themselves, and I doubt they're going to not release it, maybe they'll wait till they can discontinue the normal model before putting the small model out.

You know that situation actually sounds likely, I don't really see a point to keeping the original model 3DS with the 2DS and the fact that the XL has been discontinued in Japan.

Actually there everything that isn't a new 3DS is discontinued in Japan, they never got the 2DS either.
