This is what Ash from the Pokemon anime has been reduced to...

He's f***ing forgotten about THE 5TH POKEMON HE'S EVER OWNED!! In a world where pokemon are the wildlife, that's like forgettng about one of your pets! Hell, it IS forgetting about one of your pets!

[spoiler=Rant]If it was for exposition to new viewers, they could've just had Ash say that he had one that evolved all the way to charizard! Or, if they really needed the pokedex, he could've handed it off to one of his sidekicks, or had them gather around him! This is a level of stupidity that makes me pissed off! I know I don't watch the anime anymore, but COME ON! Don't you think that making him lose every game-based league turnament and taking away his ability to gawk at sexy ladies punishment enough?! Now they have to make him forget about his earlier pokemon that aren't in his party anymore!?! AUGH! *headsplodes*[/spoiler]

Or, you know, they do it for the main audience who are kids who aren't familar with original series.

And besides even if Ash loses the leagues all the time, he doesn't exactly do too badly either. He came 4th once.

He's 10, all the other trainers who win the Leagues are always adults. Ash is actually shown as being an amazing trainer for his age, its just that the anime doesn't remember the previous series happened 90% of the time because the kids watching them probably didn't watch them.

Honestly, you should be glad they still make throwbacks to the old series at all.

Would have been better if whatsername the current sidekick of the season did it. I assume they still give pokedexes out right? That way Ash doesn't look like a moron who forgets his own pokemon. Actually, isn't he getting Charizard back now, too? Im betting he will probably pokedex him too.

Yes Charizard is back and no Ash is the only one who has a Pokedex this season. Also apparently Iris thought that Charizard was a Dragon type and Ash had to correct her.

If you look closely, you can see the caterpillar's legs. They make up the "scales" on the "snake's" "head."
