Hello, everyone. Once again, here's your friendly neighborhood DZ with a small community update. Or maybe not so small after all...
Since the news are pulled from the forum, you might be reading this from inside the forum itself; do me a small favor, and please browse to the actual front page.

Since by now you've probably already noticed (or in case you haven't), thanks to our community member Protodude we managed to get in contact with Lucas Gilbertson, the voice behind Zero in the three latest entries to the MegaMan X series (those being Command Mission, X8 and Maverick Hunter X), and he nicely agreed to record for us some small introductions for the home page of our site (he's a goddamn swell guy like that). He sent me a huge recording containing many voice clips, of which I picked the best three. One of the three is played randomly each time you load the front page, so see if you can catch them all! :)

Thing about Adblock Plus: it allows you to bring up a list of all blockable items on the page... with their URLs.

Even though it's badass, it might have the tendancy to annoy visitors a bit while browsing, so, put it in some sort of hidden link and let the person find that.. hehe.

The board is discussible on that matter, but definately not the main site. On that, RPM has no chance against MMN.

If it as far is to go to re-programming X7 and 8, hell would freeze.
I go to MMN because they have the biggest supply of official art outside of Rock Miyabi.

I specifically set the feature to load ONLY on the front page; navigating RPM as a whole doesn't load the clips, so I don't see why anyone should be annoyed by repetition, since if they came to navigate the site, they'd only hear the clips once.

Well, he did say in, one of the comments on his YT vid, that he was "considering" Zero vs. Siggy any way. He just wants to be able to do it right (which also means getting Sigma's recent VA or getting another bloke to help).
That might be a lil involving, at this point. That's why I say, let's go a bit more smaller scale, like having him do his rendition of something simpler, like Omega's infamous one-liner, if he doesn't mind. Again, we don't want to overwhelm our guest, now do we? ;)

One thing though. Can we have an option, or choice whether or not to have his voice played when we come in? Because the very first time I came to this site WITH the sound clip added, it scared the crap out of me. It was SO unexpected.
It's not that I didn't like the sound clip, it was just unexpected. So, just something to think about, that it would be a nice feature to have the sound turned on or off. ;)
Not to knock on it because it is neat, but it gets a little bothersome when I'm listening to music and click on the RPM tab on my bookmark's page, since I have it on the front page. An option somwhere on the page to toggle it would be nice.

Thing is, as it stands, the main page doesn't know when a member is logged in or not. All it does is serve as a portal to the other sections of the site and show the first post of the topics in the News forum. The data displayed on the top left is only true for forum activity.
Then tough it out and enjoy the welcome message!
As I said, it doesn't effect me, cause my FireFox remembers all the places I've been, so it auto loads the forums for me when I launch it.
I only pass through the actually homepage when I need/want to.
As in this case!
On the other hand, if you have the "FlashBlock" add-on equipped to your FireFox, you basically make it so that no flash/media files will play until you actually click 'em.
A nice lil tool to have, if you want to block certain types of adds or media files from playing, until you wish to do so.
Totally caught me by surprise here. I came to browse RPM while my girlfriend was sleeping, when clip #2 announced my activities on full volume. She wasn't too happy about being woken up that way, but I couldn't stop smiling. Best fight ever. I told her she can be glad it wasn't the "What am I fighting for?!" clip. Next time I'll have to mute the comp to get my nerdy on... or really, just find my headphones. Nice, guys.

Lol! I'm not that nuts.. :P I guess I did go a bit overboard there but what can I say? It's cool that we're getting so tuned in with the creators and voice actors now. I see Lucas here more as an idol than a celeb so don't worry, I'm not a crazy fan-girl that'll go raping him or anything (I have my Fxeni for that >w<) I see this more as perhaps a chance to explore and see what the life of a voice actor is really like. :)
