There's actually no confirmation of there being an entirely new voice cast. Though it will have an entirely new production crew, so you're right about the new director and soundtrack composer.

You know, I think I can kinda agree to this. Then again, In my life, I don't think I've watched a shitton of anime like others have. It's just that the ones that I did had some really great stuff going for them in the long run.

Yeah Kadokawa is a dickwad for deleting all the old episodes. Also, I didn't bother to try to find HQ 1 because I figured I was the only person who was archiving in HQ meaning there would be no HQ on the net till DVDs came out.

Don't use PNG for a picture that has WAY too many colors, please. It only makes them bigger.
JPG is for screen caps and works just as good. PNG is for pictures with not so many colors, like game sprites. ^^

Endless eight pt.2 was just trippy.
Actually, I liked these two episodes a lot because it's an interesting plot. I'm eager to learn how Kyon's gonna break the inifinite loop.
Oh, and for whatever strage reason, I really liked all those pseudo-homoerotic approaches of Koizumi, he's just that fabulous.

Seriously, six episodes of Endless Eight? That's just plain stupid. I would have understood if it was three episodes. (First time = First time they go on vacation. Remember when I was raging about how the existence of the second season made the DVDs that were already out worthless? Never mind that. With eight episodes that are just the same safe for some arrangements, this series is absolutely not worth being bought on DVD. Seriously, 2 episodes would have been enough for this plot. If each episode contained like some crypic hints that would lead to an overall event or something, then perhaps it might be forgiveable, but in the end it just comes down to the fact that Haruhi wants to help Kyon with his summer homework >__> This seriously has to be the greatest troll in the history of anime.

After tasting the free previews on the official site, I've been reading the novels, or rather some sort of e-translation ("baka-tsuki"?). It's kind of shoddily done, but on the other hand it's actually out unlike all but 2 of the official translations here...
...And I would just like to register my interest! I may have a gander at the animangu too, though according to Wikipedia they're almost unrelated to the novel plots. Then again, maybe that's a bonus, since I already know the plot?
Though I'm kind of baffled by the branching storyline in the last novel, I'd still recommend the read - just not in person...

Basically this. Haruhi's watchable, but I really don't like it that much.
Loved Lucky Star though. I should rewatch it some time.
It`s strange. The show got so popular during its time that it achieved anti-popularity and became the butt of every weaboo joke. I blame it the over hype phenomenon. Everyone keeps talking about how good something is, tangents of interest will develop unrealistic expectations and consider it the worst thing ever just because the show doesn't meet them.
