Yeah though to be honest I saw something kind of gruesome this morning watching a Let's Play of a RPG called Guardian's Crusade that kind of go holy [parasitic bomb] in my mind since I was in a public place. It creeped me out more than Blood Borne to some degree. It's an RPG for kids, but god damn it's almost like Kirby with the Eldritch Abominations cut in half.
My comment on it pretty much summerizes my thoughts on it, but it's spolier heavy obviously.
Honestly I started to question what they were going to get away with when I saw the Stork and the demons get electrocuted in the opening. Then we had a monster depleting an entire village's food supply, political corruption, a really dangerous that cult that kidnaps and hypnotizes people, human sacrifices that for some reason remind me of the cannibalism in Illusion of Gaia in that one village with no food and the villagers being skin and bones and very definitely Grey characters like Kalkanor, Ramal, and Dark Beat who while good also do some controversial things, though Glor obviously wasn't even trying to be Grey, seriously don't want to know how he fooled Kalkanor with his attitude.
But having Spoo's mom's stomach ripped open, and probably Spoo's himself as well, was damn grisly. Just goes to show a 'Kids game' can be very dark and deal with mature themes, without being so grim dark. It's like Kirby except it's not being 100% caused by Eldritch Abominations.
Keep in mind this game is Rated E and Spoo is this little Dragon that looks like the tiniest Hippo ever.
