Princess Mononoke was my gateway to Miyazaki's work, as well as Kiki's and Spirited Away. I gotta watch Princess Mononoke sometime again.

I almost always forget how graphic Mononoke can get (in comparison to other Ghibli movies).

It's easily one of the more disturbing movies when you think about it.

Kiki's Delivery Service over here.

Cute witch master race.

Though admittedly it's one of my favourites since it particularly hits home. Same with Whisper of the Heart.

Yeah, Whisper of the Heart gave me some serious feels. Particularly the scene where everyone was singing and using their instruments together.

And of course, let's not forget Grave of the Fireflies. Ghibli's most heart-wrenching, depressing movie.

Grave of The Fireflies ending

Nausicaa for me. Spirited Away is probably 2nd though.

Yep, Nausicaa was great.

And when I first watched Spirited Away, I only felt it was a "decent movie".

It wasn't until the second time I watched it that I noticed the finer details and gained a far deeper understanding of what Miyazaki was trying to convey.

That's when I fell in love with it. I've heard that others enjoyed the film more on their second time through it, as well.

I almost always forget how graphic Mononoke can get (in comparison to other Ghibli movies).

That's because their movies tend to be G-rated or PG-rated.

Princess Mononoke was PG-13.

It feels like it should have a higher rating than that, on account of the melting flesh-like visuals.

I suppose Animated Fantasy Violence isn't criticized nearly as much as live-action violence.

This guy I follow on Twitter is opening up a random page from 50 Shades of Grey and posting what he finds.

...I have to know if some of this [parasitic bomb] is real, because ho. ly. [tornado fang] is this demented and painful and hilarious.

Yeah it's true, an acquaintance of mine from high school went on a rant and a few arguments about it.   Another friend showed this on her facebook page and a few people are discussing it there too.  I'm glad I never read the book, it's disturbing.

I mean the writing itself. I have to know if this is the actual written content on the pages, because it's not just disturbing but downright nonsensical. I've seen fanfics written better than this.

Oh that I don't know, it could be someone who made it based on the subtext.

I could've sworn hearing that 50 Shades started as a Twilight fanfiction

From what little I know about it, it's entirely possible that it's real excerpts.

Ooooh no, it's real. It's very [tornado fang]ing real.

I never read the entire book, but I have read a few pages from it, online. I was unable to finish because I couldn't contain my laughter.

It's exactly as bad as you think it is.

Yes. The original fanfic was called "Masters of the Universe" or something.

I mean, it's ABSURD. Hilariously absurd! If you care, this is what I'm talking about!
Christian Grey stood on top of the end of the bed, shirtless, hands on his hips, wearing really good pants that he got at the millionaire pants store.

"Dong," he said. "Dong. Dong. Dong. Dong. Dong. Dong."

"What’s that?" said the girl, aware in some girl way that she was about to sex more than she ever had before.

"Open up," he said, unzipping. "That’s the [tornado fang] doorbell."
LOL, WHAT IS THIS?

As someone said this morning

'Finally something that's not a better love story than twilight'

Seriously!!! My mind is blown by how amazingly bad this is.
I paged through a cook book in Christian’s kitchen. The kitchen was the size of a helicopter. The kind of helicopter that we had done buttstuff in. Also it was made of gold.

The cookbook was full of strange recipes: “One egg, a blindfold, two whips.”

I spun around as he used his fingers to surprise my shoulders.

"I see you found my cooking books," he said observantly.

I nervously asked him, “What kind of a recipe is this?”

He laughed a sexy laugh that a handsome seal would make in some sort of sex zoo. “That’s a book on how to make sex breakfasts, and I’m going to make one for you.”
I mean, how the hell does this even get past the editor's desk?

Some Ghibli films have that effect on people.
I truly think they're better than Disney, in some regards.

She lay on her back with her legs open as Christian Grey knelt before her, wearing a papier-mâché cage around his head with a black hashtag on the front where a face would be.

"Say it," he insisted.

"I want you to blow up my favstar," she replied.

Grey began speaking in a low, reverberating voice.

"When my object enters your sexstream, sex begins to correct itself. Let me use this example: Imagine if I had four balls on the edge of your clit. Say a direct copy of the ball nearest the clit is sent to the back of the line of balls and takes the place of the first ball. The formerly first ball becomes the second, the second becomes the third, and the fourth falls off your clit."

"What?"

"Time works the same way."

"Um…"

"That, my dear, is a Zybourne cock."
...S-Science?!?!  o-O
