Funny how this happens right when my classes start.

Though, if the snowfall really is as tremendous as expected, classes should be cancelled for this week.

Well, it'll depend on how diligent NYDOT is with clearing the roads. Around here, when we get a forecasted blizzard or heavy snowfall, PennDOT sends out their entire fleet to keep the roads clear.

Back in 93, we had that massive blizzard and schools were closed for two weeks. Since then, PennDOT has been far more active during heavy snowfall. Classes were cancelled for a few days at most.

NYC is huge and busy, so I suspect their fleet will be out keeping the main roads clear.

I've mostly seen cancellations when it snowed. Rarely were my college classes cancelled, though. I think they were cancelled once or twice.

NYC is good at a lot of thing, but lordy lordy lord do we NOT handle snow well at all. And I'm talking your basic 8-10 inches. Three feet of snow? Pfffffft!
