After that I think her second game should be Kirby Triple Deluxe again because it has tutorials. If she can get the hang of those 2 I'll introduce her to Zelda and old school Mario games after that.

She wants to know what a well designed game is like since she has a desire to make a game herself.

Super Mario 3D Land would be another great start for her.

The game is really easy, though.

It's only difficult when you get to the special worlds, which don't become available until you beat the game.

I know, but I want to start with a side scrolling platformer first after she finishes Pokemon. A 3D platformer might be too complicated for her until she gets more experience. That's why I'm starting with Kirby.

Still might be too hard for my niece and nephew. They watched some Sonic 2 gameplay footage and thought it was THE HARDEST GAEM EVA.

Well, yes. Yes it is. It's Megaman. Megaman doesn't go easy on wimpy-ass gamers. It beats you into submission.

However, their platforming experience is limited to Lep's World, which is an easy-as-[tornado fang] Mario clone.
