It's more along the lines of the person being not very computer savvy and thinks that digital art is all stencils and stuff and that it takes no effort.

My sis-in-law. I had brought my portfolio with me last weekend for whatever reason, and she was looking through it and showing it to people, which I'm cool with. That's what it's for. But every time she got to a digital print, she remarked that it was done on the computer as if that were a bad thing.

My digital work often takes as long as my traditional work, if not longer. And it's not easy. Granted, having glorious Ctrl-Z at my disposal helps, along with using the Lasso Tool to select large sections that I can Edit- Fill Selection with color, but it's not easier.

Having my digital pieces dismissed like that really bothered me, because I'm trying to do more digital painting. I worked hard on those, only for them to be dismissed entirely.

Well either you should draw something on the computer with her present or do an art livestream and show her the video. If you care enough to do that I mean.

The only kind of artists I would consider an art scrub are the ones that re-colors existing to pass off as their, traces over someone else's work *cough*Mike Burgess*cough*, and the worst lot of dA.

She's watched me work before. I was working on card game art in front of her. But, since it's digital, then it's meh.

The image I was working on was one that I started on while drinking a beer. It was one of my first serious attempts at digital painting.

It was the metal lightning fist.

Well it certainly came out good, and seriously that Peridot was amazing, especially since you mentioned that you're colorblind but the coloring was spot on.

First time doing serious weather effects like water droplets, too. I have techniques for saliva, but that won't work for rain. That requires a different technique, because saliva is too thick and it'd look like jizz otherwise.
