I am always late to to the party when it comes purchasing games. It seems not long ago I wanted purchase Pokemon X and now Nintendo is already releasing Gen 7 Pokemon games.

Pokemon X is still worth it to play. XY were really, really good. You could skip ORAS if you've played RSE.

That's the problem I fall into.

Curse of desiring limited editions and rare stuff. Why get what's standard when you can get so much shiny extra crap in addition? Doesn't help that sometimes you get special crap for pre-ordering well in advance (Like in one situation, pre-ordering netted me an entire game... that was not translated into english at all.)

Or you run into the dilemma of "If I don't get this NOW, who's to say it'll be there when I have more money?" Which is all too scarily common to be perfectly honest.

I will be honest though i'm learning to cut back more, I did cancel Fire Emblem and I've lost interest in the Bravely Second SE after hearing they cut [parasitic bomb] outta the artbook (Not to mention, its out of stock anyway). Everything else is Standard from here on out.

I would say buy Pokemon X now. Play the [parasitic bomb] out of it. By the time you're feeling sick of it, Sun and Moon will be out and you can by one of those then.

Pokemon is literally the only exception to this for me personally, but I agree on that front so much.  I'm probably going to get Bravely Second for Christmas, I still need to beat the first game, not to mention I still need to beat DQ 4-6 too with 7 and 8 coming out.

I'm with Waifu in feeling left out all because of the foreclosure bullshit that my family went through, but everyone else here has a point. From my experience, missing out on the Xbox 360 within the first couple of years of launch unlike my older brother saved me from getting a model that breaks down on you like the Arcade/Elite models did (which unfortunately did happen to my brother's 360), I wouldn't have gotten a Wii U with better capacity and cheaper price than at launch (plus it was on sale at the time), and I wouldn't have a good reason to get the New 3DS now if I had gotten the older models. It has also has saved me from porting disasters on PC as of late (e.g. Tales of Symphonia, but I'm stay far away from that game because of its intrusive DRM).

Aye, I honestly get annoyed when my mom says I shouldn't say negative things even though it's more of a fact than negative.  She's an optimist while I'm a realist so I can't just say everything will be sugar and rainbows because that's not how it works.

I merely said that I hope the Gamestop isn't crowded because today is Pokemon Day and there are promotions going on and immediately she's like I shouldn't say these things because I'll just be setting myself up for that negative event and that we control ourown reality and blah blah blah blah.  I just find it annoying because she can't seem to understand that positive thinking doesn't make everything better.  That sure as hell isn't saying having a Negative outlook is a good idea either, but it has to be a balance.

Luckily it was actually empty despite being Pokemon Day, but still it's like I don't get why my mom has such reactions.

Giving random encounters in RPGs access to instant-death spells is infuriating game design.

Bravely Default can kick your ass too, but you can turn off Random Encounters.

Wouldn't be so bad, but SOA's base-level resurrection spell only has a 50% chance of actually working, and Silver Magic levels the slowest out of all of 'em.

The first fight I had against Piastol, she alternated between insta-deathing Vyse with magic, and OHKO anyone not named Drachma with her Super. Between that and her goddamn dog, it was a miracle I won.

I'm playing Pokemon Blue and it's taking forever to find a Spearow.

I thought Spearow was Red only.

I was lucky to find a Male Nidoran and catch it because it's a 5% chance to find them in Blue, but Spearow is 10%.  Ratatas are 50% and Female Nidorans are 35%.
