Waifu, who was known as GAP and way too many other names I can't bother to remember, had a habit for starting topics questioning why people hated X game with X being something like Megaman Zero 4 or some other game not understanding that people have opinions. Also made topics about really stupid things like if Defeat Means Friendship actually works in real life, there's plenty if you look hard enough.

Now he's done the same for Fire Emblem Awakening although luckily he didn't start a new topic. But yeah it's not the first time, but it's been a while since he's done this.

Yeah best thing to do is ignore him since he's so damn infrequent most of the time he probably wouldn't be around to get the answer to the stupid question he asked.

You know I almost went and made a thread in Gaming titled "why do people hate things" with the content being "no seriously i looked on reddit and like everybody hates things you know it's probably because theyre haters".

In other news, my Internet is the fastest and also the slowest, I have discovered. Sure, the data rate is blazing and streaming is awesome (not to mention it's been rather stable), but every single server is, like, halfway across the world for me, so the ping is pretty mild in online games... I miss not having to do as much lag compensation back in Mississippi.

I heard about that a while back. It's been a thing for some time so clearly if they haven't acknowledged them by now it shouldn't be a big deal.

I don't understand why free projects tend to get C&Ds from companies. If it's not monetized the community should have the right to make fan projects. Hell, the Black Mesa devs got Valve's blessing right off the bat and then were further permitted to sell the mod on their store.

If that's the case it would be great but I still think it's likely they'll get a cease and desist.

As for the whole cease and desist thing with free projects perhaps Fxeni can shed light on that.

Same reason as any other C&D really, to "protect" the brand name (and company name). If the project ends up bad, then it can make the brand look bad (or worse). If it's good, then it leads to questions that the company would rather not answer.

There's also the fact that if they give exception to one project, it'll make it harder to defend in court later down the line if another project decides to ignore the C&D.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's more the second thing that's the problem. The first one is just what they like to claim.

Yeah the second one makes a lot more sense than the first since if the project did bomb is would more likely result in making the fan developer looking like an idiot, and possibly blacklisted depending on how bad, and increase faith that only the mother company can do the series right. If it's good well it kind of should inspire the company to do better, but that's probably too idealistic even for someone like me.

So against my mom's better judgement she invited my Dad to come with us to come with us to Costco. No less than 2 minutes on the road we both instantly regret it as he keeps making racist and other offensive assumptions about the neighbors being Mexicans and homosexual, and talking crap about the fact one of my cousins is getting my Abuela's house when she dies since she's the one who needs it most.

There are times I really want to punch him but I'm too tiny and he's way too big. I know that's harsh but I have such little tolerance over someone being racist in such a mean spirited way, sexism especially against women, making stupid assumptions and just plain not shutting the [tornado fang] up because they love hearing themselves talk and talk and talk and [tornado fang]ing talk despite everyone else ignoring them. Sorry for the rant but I'm very salty right now.

And he won't stop no matter how hard we try to get him to stop. I know for a fact that he has worse social cues than I do when it comes to not realizing when to shut your mouth because he doesn't realize just how much they don't want to talk to him and ignore him.
