No I think I literally just missed something and didn't switch over to being a complete monster who kills most anything in one hit.

There were so few random encounters.

Like, I get not wanting a million of them. But I got like 1 or 2 every 5 rooms.

Not sure how it's possible to miss a particular kill; since I'm pretty sure the average Genocide Runner, would still be able to get every kill on their first run.

Or it could be that you'd still get the neutral ending, if it's been your first playthrough, I suppose.

Ahh, that could possibly explain it.

And that's what you're missing.
[spoiler]You need to grind and kill the monsters for every random encounter, until you get a random encounter that states that "But nobody came...", or when you are at the save point, it says "Determination". If not, grind again before the boss. That's the base requirement for genocide.

This includes the first level, ending with Toriel.[/spoiler]

Ah I wouldn't do a Genocide run first, if you do a Genocide Run first it has major reprocussions.

[spoiler]It will taint all other runs so even a True Pacifist Run will be completely corrupted.  The only way to fix this this to delete everything, including the Steam Cloud Saves.

I repeat do not do the Genocide run if you intend to do the other runs.[/spoiler]

Also as a foot note it seems you can't do a True Pacifist run the first time and have to get the Neutral Ending first.

If it's the same brand they may have either changed the packaging if it's the same volume or they just got jars with more food.  Or if it's a different brand they just might use different jars period.

If that's the case then go nuts.  I mean personally I would never play a Genocide run for the reasons stated above but if you plan to not play the other runs then go for it.

I think it's interesting that there's an RPG out there that you can play without killing anyone.

I also think tumblr and its ilk blew up the game too much and it's not really remarkable.

It's backlogged for me anyway.
