Seeing that the threat is over, for now. Toshi stepped forward, raised her hand...

Toshi - "To me, Ronginasu!" she uttered, as the spear flashed for a moment before teleporting back to her hand. She quietly disassembled her weapon, before putting it away. She then turned her attention to the Professor, hoping he wasn't hurt in anyway.

(Waiting for the zombie-ing to take over.)

Alive but slightly slimy the party managed to escape back to the main room with the blue flame. The Professor slowly approaches the statue and light it with their flame--thankfully Aya's hypothesis proves true and the flame sticks.

After a few seconds of silence a loud sound fills the room as mana streams through lines in the satue activating the mechanism for the second door. Aya turns toward it as it slowly opens raining dust down on the whole room.

The Party moved into the second doorway with more caution than previously, the long hall eventually led into a similar large square room but lacking a slime pool this time. Along the walls on the left and right where three mirrors apiece, each had a symbol engraved above the glass but the party would need to examine it closer to see what they all said.

However it was the swirling chaos rift like thing floating near the high ceiling at the center of the room that was the biggest cause of worry.

Toshi - "So now what do we do about that up there?" gazing towards the rift above the party, "More importantly; what obvious purpose do these mirrors do to help? Not that I've figured them out yet."

Although she thought of the use of light being maybe useful, but doesn't have a clue as to what the mirrors' purpose were, as apposed to the more concerning problem of sealing away the rift, above.

"Odd, this rift almost seems--stable? Is that even possible?" Aya tilts her head approaching the rift before glancing at the mirrors to her right then to her left. "I don't think this is posing any danger to the area, plus I doubt it'll open randomly at least--we can try to figure out this next test."

"I'd rather keep away from it still, to be on the safe side; rifts haven't exactly been kind to us," Fxeni said as he went around the edge of the room to one of the mirrors. He held up his torch so that he could read the symbol above the mirror.

Pema walked up to Fxeni and gazed at the mirror he was examining.

Frowning that she was too short to see the symbol above the mirror, she jumped up and down, attempting to get a glance. She waved her hands wildly as she hopped. "Nngh! Hwuh! Higher... Higher!"

"Oh boy..." Salem groaned.

Fxeni turned to watch Pema hopping in place. He smiled as he knelt down.

"Want a lift? You'll need to hold my torch for me though," Fxeni said as he held the torch out.

Pema giggled as she was hoisted up and illuminated the light from the torch onto the symbols.

"These look really strange... I wonder if the Professor can understand them." She pondered aloud.

The symbols seem to artistic interpretations of the elements as far as Fxeni and Pema could guess, all six seemed present.

The Professor studied the symbols closely and nodded assent. "Highly stylized, yes. Highly stylized. But, but, but, I do believe that their meaning is quite, quite simple. They are elements, yes? Elemental symbols..."

Pema scratched her nose and tilted her head. "So, umm... what does that mean exactly?"

"Perhaps the symbols are conveying the need to use magic spells on the mirror?" Salem chimed in.

"That does seem to be a possibility." Salem replied.

The Professor scratched his head as a possibility occurred to him. "What it, what if, p-perhaps, what if the mirrors corresponding to the symbols, what if... What if they're part of the puzzle? Perhaps, perhaps you are to use the reverse of the element?"

((Fxeni and Pema are near the water elemental mirror))

As the party discuss how to solve the puzzle the larger door suddenly begins to shut, the group is too far back to escape in time and they are left in a now even darker room only lit by the torch-that is until the glow of the chaos rift begins to create a oppressive glow over the party. What ever is inside is beginning to stir.

((As for the position of each mirror don't worry too much just say you aim at it.))

(So Toshi must be standing in front of either the Fire, Earth, or Darkness elemental mirrors. Since Wind is a prerequisite for learning ice, I might have to throw in a one time wind ability for Toshi...)

Toshi - "I guess Water is the reverse of Fire, I think." she pondered, "So who's got Earth and Wind."

Grifter & Riyalie - "Ahem!" the two poké-familiars chimed in.

Toshi - "Oh right, I forgot about you two."

(...or... I could have Grifter and Riyalie {her Power Gem is a Rock type move, so I could use that} assist.)

(Not going to comment on the door locking and the Chaos Rift going nuts? Also I don't think Wind is a prerequisite for learning Ice, I think it's just another state of Water.)

(Agreed. Although, I did realize Grifter's Flying type moves are already wind based, so I could use him instead.)
