"Did....did the shard just merge with Aya?" Calien gulped.

"Aya!" the Professor ran over to her, but backed away in case something else were to happen. "Give her space, give her space! Should she siphon off the extra energy, it, it will n-need somewhere to go!"

To the Prof's surprise there is no mana exploding out, however more worrying is that Aya isn't waking up. She's breathing at the very least however--perhaps retreating back to town might be a good idea as it won't be long before the villagers will need help there too now that the cause of the disturbance has been removed.

Pema stared at the unconscious Aya and bit her lip. "Is it... safe to go over to her, yet? I don't sense any mana pouring out."

"Let's get her out of here... maybe the doctors back in town might know something," Fxeni said as he walked over to Aya. He cautiously reached out his hand towards Aya, and when he saw that nothing was happening he picked her up on his back. "Oof! Heavier than I expected."

The party manage to escape the temple without any issues and soon find themselves outside the main doors again on the mountain-the blizzard has all but stopped and a slight warmth (relative to the area) has returned. Hopefully the spell that had been used to freeze the civilians has begun to break. Either way they will have their hands full helping them while they wait for Aya to recover.

(Not sure if we should wait for the others to chime in?)

It barely takes two days for the ice to melt and as suspected the town's folk are in rough shape--the healers of the party have their work cut out for them. Unsurprisingly the townsfolk are more than willing to give the group a few rooms at the local inn. Aya is put into one while the others see to the civilians.

((Give the group some time to talk to civies or interact outside a dungeon/combat situation. Little down time before the next shard anyway

Back in the Floating City, Albertus had been working towards his ultimate plan, when Shadow Master appeared behind him.

"Joo really need to learn how to knock." Albertus said, without turning to face Shadow Master.

"Sorry Master, a force of habit. I bring bad news. The first shard..."

"I know. They haf it."

"How did you know?"

"My Aya clonez... They reacted bery violently... Thiz data vill prove bery uzeful..."

"Master... What should we do? Should we update Mar?"

"He haz hiz vayz... There'z no need to update him..."

"But Master..."

"ENOUGH! If joo vant to update, joo update him. Now leave me..."

"... Yes, Master."

Shuu sighed, sitting out of his armor and staring out a window, with Hellhound and Grani standing next to him, the former being in his smaller, sealed state. "Why are you so interested in seeing the local daemon lorde?" He asked, turning to the canine daemon.

"It's none of your business what bones I have to pick." Hellhound growled, letting out a puff of smoke. "Besides, Sparkles here seems to want to go see them too." He added, getting a jab from Grani's horn. "OW!"

Shuu couldn't help but snicker at Grani stabbing Hellhound. "Fine, since Grani seems intent on going, and it's probably going to be a while before Aya wakes up, we'll go." He said, getting up. "I'm sure the Professor would want to come along too." The knight made his way to the room where Aya had been set to recuperate, knocking lightly on the door. "Professor, are you in there?"
