Pema noticed what Aya was doing and rolled up her sleeves, stepping up to a pillar. "I'm gonna whack it!"
"Uh, I very much doubt slapping it with a magical stick will prove fruitful. Hmm, perhaps you could somehow weaken the structure by freezing the materials." Salem suggested.
She nodded her head slowly, then squinted her eyes. "Yeah... what do you mean?"
"Basically, destroy the pillar from the inside-out. Freeze the pillar to extreme conditions, then you could--"
"Oh, I get it! If I do that, then the stone will become frail!" Pema exclaimed suddenly.
"Precisely. Concentrate the ice spell onto the contents, not the surface; otherwise, all you'll end up accomplishing is creating a layer of ice." Salem explained.
She pumped her fist forward. "After that, I can whack it, right?"
"Heh, that's the plan. Keep, um... "whacking" the fragile structure until it breaks."
"YES!" Pema placed her hand on the surface. With a deep focus, she attempted to freeze only the materials within.
