The Professor, with help from Toshi, managed to angle the mirrors so that they were facing each other. Ducking out of the way, he awaited the results.

The targeted party members managed to dive out of the way as the portals fired their light and dark elemental beams, the reflective surfaces diverted the mana at the opposite mirror and much the same way as before they shattered likewise causing the Rift to be surrounded by glowing orbs of all the elements.

As the party waited to see what happend-they notice the small portals close and any remaining minions dissipate before the elemental orbs merge into the vortex stabilizing it as the ones encountered before. Aya breathes in relief before sensing a build up of mana.

"Everyone down!" Aya motions as she runs to the side of the room looking back to see the vortex explode into a new flame burning brilliantly in multiple colours. The flame floats above the ground awaiting the next torch.

The Professor dug around for the other torch and held it out at arm's length. Timidly, he approached the flame, ready to dive to the floor in case anything goes wrong.

Oddly enough The Prof does not explode or burst into flames, or get electrocuted, or eaten, or sucked into the void. The torch does send a kinda tingling feeling down his arm though.

(I don't think the explosion caused a large enough shockwave to send anyone flying. I mean, Pema would be halfway across the room, if it did.)

Toshi - "It's okay, Professor." she replied, as she stood next to him and the multi-colored flame, reacting to the torch he lit with the new flame, "It doesn't appear to harmful, or anything, does it?"

The Party returns to the main chamber and again the flame takes to one of the torches and further lines of mana fill the room toward the final door, two more to go. As before the next door opened as if accepting their victory as proof of worthiness to proceed.

After progressing down another similar hallway the find them selves in a much larger room, a library or archives. Blue torches give the room some light and countless tomes fill the shelves, the room is laid out in two floors; and a stone epitaph lies at the center of the first floor.

"Well, this certainly seems much tamer than the previous rooms." Salem observed.

"Yeah, but if it's similar to the others, there might be some kinda trap waiting for us..." Pema hopped on a stair railing and idly looked around the room and the various tomes.

"This is true." He conceded. "So, what do you think? Do you want to check out the second floor?"

"Mm-hm." She nodded and climed down from the railing. "Hey, does anyone wanna walk with me to the second floor?" She asked the entire group.

"D-do be careful. Appearances aren't always what they seem..." the Professor wandered around the room, investigating the objects and decorations. He wasn't sure if they were actually in the clear, and he was careful not to touch any protrusions in the walls, in case they were switches.
