Surprisingly I have Calien's winter outfit set, an armored long fur coat and pants.

But not his regular outfits.)

Pema perked up and nodded, "Yeah, I really do! Let's go see her!"

She adjusted her grip on the staff, thinking about how much she enjoyed grooming Epee's beautiful fur, "Hey Salem, why couldn't you be as pretty and majestic as Ms. Sakura's Rapidash?" She said jokingly, giggling.

"I keep myself awake at night, asking that very question," Salem replied sarcastically.

(Salem has the dry wit of an old Englishman.

(Even though he's not British I still occasionally imagine him with a British accent anyway. Also I'm really tempted to go with that superfluous idea I was talking about in the Supplement thread saying some Dwarves wanted to 'pimp up' Sakura's 'Battle Mount' for hilarity.)

"Right though I have to ask the Dwarves for directions, I know where she is but getting there is another thing all together. The trails are so twisty." Sakura stated "I'd ask Riagan but I know you kind of don't like him too much."

Pema bit her lip and pressed a knuckle against her chin, "Mr. Riagan seems very... complicated. I'm not sure how comfortable I feel around him. I mean, I'm trying real hard to understand him and everything, but he makes me a bit uneasy."

She sighed, then looked at Sakura, "But, if we need his help to find Epee, then I'm willing to have him help us. If we're going to be working together with him, then maybe... maybe I should try my hardest to get along."

As she said this, Pema thought back to his incredibly aggressive behavior, feeling the sense of dread all over again. She shuddered, "Easier said than done, though..."

"Yeah I kind of want to get to understand him better myself." Sakura nodded "He seems like a really complex individual and to be honest he keeps suprising me quite a bit. I mean a lot of us keep secrets, my Daddy especially has a few he's reluctant to tell the others about, some very complicated, not bad but very complicated secrets. Despite that I do know what the others are like for the most part.

But Riagan is someone I can't really read well, out of everyone here I don't have a good grasp of what he's like, and I have so many questions for him too. He's certainly someone who is more than meets the eye, as Shadow Master made the mistake of underestimating him, like everyone else mine you, but him especially. I did too to be honest. But I want to wait until we get more comfortable with each other more, more used to us so to say.

Though I can say this....his first impressions need work. I'm sure he doesn't bear the Prof much ill will like he did at first, but the Prof is still very scared of him. And the Dwarves in general it seems judging by his reluctance with going into the mines alone. Though he doesn't seem to mind using the Dwarves for target practice....don't tell Riagan that though....one thing I do know about him is he cares about his Dwarven Brethren very much....perhaps more than he does himself......"

"Do you think he's lonely?" Pema exclaimed, "He cares about his Dwarf brothers, but maybe he still feels out of place? I mean, Mr. Riagan is a human, right? That could be part of the reason why he's super cranky and angry. Growing up, I didn't have many friends, because of something that happened when I was born... I felt like I didn't belong among my own people."

She rubbed her arm, glancing down, "During that time, I was sad and lonely. But sometimes, I also felt... angry. I can't really explain why, but I just wanted to yell at the sky. As loud as I could. When I think back to it, I guess setting my mind to that was a way of ignoring my unhappiness. You think maybe... Mr. Riagan's scary fighting is another form of yelling at the sky?"

Pema looked over at Riagan from a distance, scratching her head, "I guess we can't really be sure."

"That might be one possibility, though maybe not loneliness exactly." Sakura shook her head "Since he loves his brothers very much and his adoptive father loves him very much too.

I think it's more of him experiencing what my father calls 'culture shock', he grew up with the Dwarven culture all his life, but he doesn't know too much about other cultures, and neither do the Dwarves. My father experienced a similar sensation when he first came to this land, though some things were similar to him they were also very different. I certainly still experience culture shock since there are many things I don't know about, things I desperately want to learn. But 'Human Society' is something he just doesn't understand quite yet, and our customs for that matter. I only know what I know because of my father, because he always told me what Society was like. The Dwarves and Riagan don't unfortunately.

In fact before this happened we were planning to leave the forest and travel the world to find a different place to live in 2 years, he wanted to make sure I would be ready for the world before we did. But Aya and the danger seems to have accelerated those plans.

As for his 'scary fighting' I think it has more to do with how those people harmed his brothers. That Doll Woman possessed some of them to fight us and Shadow Master and Mask Master killed others. Kidnapping Aya was something he was also very angered about, he has a sense of justice. I can understand how he felt, I too was very angry about what they did.

But I think he was consumed with venegence because of their misdeeds and transgressions. That venegence blinds him so much that he can't think about much else unless you point him in the right direction.

I think Riagan, and quite possibly the Dwarves in general, are more suffering from 'stunted growth', as if they have a narrow understanding of things they aren't familiar with. They don't have a 'Worldly View' so to speak because until now they didn't need to have one.

I think perhaps once Riagan learns more about what's out there maybe he'll change a bit. Though it would take a long time, and we shouldn't force him. Same goes for the Prof as I learned, as surprising as it is they are more similar than the other might think.

At least those are my theories."

He tossed a glance to Shuu. "Newcomer! My father would like an audience with one of your repute."

Riagan barked out a hearty laugh. "Shoes! We've put shoes on your steed! She's got a fine leather saddle, and new reins, and she's taken to her bit nicely. A fine war horse, she is."

Riagan's gaze grew distant as he thought about the meticulous Dwarven craftsmanship in all of their goods.

Sakura laughed nervously "I read Rapidashes and their pre evolution will get violent around people they don't trust."
