Because I am sure there are tunes we all love and enjoy even after years of gaming. If you have some favorites you can share them with others in here.
Or just talk about VG music in general. I'm sure we all can profit from this, many ears hear a lot more and maybe you remember tracks you buried deep within your head.

Let me start by giving you some real nostalgia gems which I hold dear even today:

FF: Mystic Quest - Boss Battle

FF: Mystic Quest - Final Boss

SNES F-Zero - White Land 1
SNES F-Zero - White Land 2

It's funny how the track from Brawl just got my right back into the SNES F-Zero soundtrack.  I was completely ashamed of myself for not having it downloaded yet, which I promptly did after my reminder of how [tornado fang]ing much I love the SNES F-Zero soundtrack.

SSBB - SNES F-Zero White Land

Just because I love the Brawl Remix of this song so damn much.  It's easily one of my favorite songs to Brawl too, and also to drive to as well.  Oh, I think I got the car up to about 80-85 MPH while playing this one time.  I couldn't go past 88MPH, for obvious reasons!

More to come...

My absolute favorite VG tracks are Stickerbrush Symphony (Donkey Kong Country 2)

Then please please watch this, if you already haven't!

GONG: Final Boss Remix

I enjoyed how Banpresto managed to perfectly remake a song that was performed by JAM Project, the theme of this game. As well as other mixes to various songs for each character in the game.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  Undecided

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Final Fantasy IX has one of the best bossthemes in the series. If not one of the best bossthemes ever. If this doesn't sound like HUGE BOSS COMING AROUND then nothing does.

Getting back to F-Zero for a moment...

SNES F-Zero - Port Town

I would love to hire the composer/composers who did the three remixes for Brawl from the SNES F-Zero, and have them do the entire soundtrack.  Especially this song, as I've always loved it.

SNES F-Zero - Fire Field

I mean, they took an already [tornado fang]ing awesome song and made this Remix on the Brawl soundtrack:

SSBB - F-Zero Fire Field

I simply love the opening guitar on this song.

Also, another quick one from F-Zero:

SNES F-Zero - Silence

This was another kick ass track, and I found this really kick ass remix of it on YouTube.

So 80's version of Silence!  Laughing

I'll agree.  I've never played the game, and I'll definitely say that that's bonafide bad-ass boss music.

As of right now, this is probably still my favorite Boss Music ever.  lolwut

KOF music needs much, MUCH more love.

Trash Head (Goenitz's ('96 final boss) theme).
Origin of Mind (Orochi ('97 final boss) theme).
Bloody (New Face Team's theme)
Flames of Destiny (Orochi Chris' theme)
Esaka? (Kyo Kusanagi's theme in '96(damn, there are a lot of official versions of Esaka >.>)

These are only a few AND the original ones, the arranged versions are oh so awesome.

YOU MUST LISTEN TO THEM. THIS PLACE NEEDS MORE KOF LOVE.

I've been a VG Music collector in the recent years. Falcom is genius in that department. With the games like Ys Series, Sora no Kiseki/Legend of Heroes, Xanadu & a lot more. I also got in love with Wild Arms Music.

Gunmetal Action - My ultimate favorite. I really doubt if there's something out there that can dethrone it in my top list. It's like a complete story which have a Exposition, Rising Action, Climax which I  love so much, so as the Falling Action & finally the very outstanding Resolution.

Added w/ Leave it to me, both of it serves as a complete satisfaction in my listening pleasure.

G.I Joe Atlantis Factor Stage 1 Theme

Etrian Odyssey Battle Theme - Super Arrange Version

Project Sylpheed OST - Operation Nebula Blaze

Shao Pai Long [Macross]lolwut

DarkWorld A Link To The Past - But of course, very Heroic.

Video game music is the best kind of music because of it's diversity. Admit it. There isn't a set guideline and there aren't guaranteed results. Something might be done one way that couldn't be done in another genre. This thread is a good idea by the way because it'll allow me to gush over some of my favorite little tunes and memorable melodies.

Also since we'll more than likely mention some composers in here, Koji Kondo, Jun Senoue & Hideki Naganuma are gods of the field imo.

Here's some random favorites as I pull them from my head in no particular order (mostly Nintendo of course lolwut):

Sonic CD - Palmtree Panic Zone (Bad Future)
Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Zone (Bad Future)
Zoda's Revenge: Startropics II - Labyrinth of Shapes
Jet Set Radio - Let Mom Sleep
Jet Set Radio - Sweet Soul Brother
Super Mario Bros. 3 - Blue Sky Athletics
Mega Man Zero 4 - Nothing Beats
Mega Man 7 - 8 Big Boss
Super Smash Bros. - Final Destination
Super Smash Bros. - Metal Mario Battle
Super Smash Bros. - Fighting Polygon Team
Super Smash Bros. - Board The Platforms/Break The Targets/Race to The Finish!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Norfair
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - With Mila's Divine Protection
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Butter Building
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Theme of Tara Brawl Mix
Nazo no Muramejou - Douchuumen
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Escape Theme
Metroid - Kraid's Lair (Zero Mission Version)
Paper Mario - Bowser's Rage!
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Big Bowser Koopa Krush
Donkey Kong Country 2 - Kannon's Klaim
Donkey Kong Country 2 - Forest Interlude
Donkey Kong Land - Kremlantis
The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker - Ganondorf Battle (2nd Half)
Mega Man X - Awakening Road
Super Mario Galaxy - Melty Molten Galaxy / Hell Prominence
Star Fox 64 - Zoness
Sonic Rush - Bomber Barbara
Sonic Rush - Wrapped In Black
Banjo-Kazooie - Gruntilda's Lair
Banjo-Kazooie - Final Battle
Banjo-Tooie - HAG1 Battle
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow - Versus Rival
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - VS. Rival
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - Kanto Gym Leader Remix
Sonic Unleashed - Windmill Island Zone
Sonic Unleashed - Rooftop Run Zone
Sonic Unleashed - Empire City Zone
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance OST - Theme Of Tara Remix
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Battle In The Base

I don't think I could ever list out every bit of music that i loved from games in this thread as I write this. Either way, here's a small sample of what kinds of sound I love and have grown accustomed to over my years of gaming.

Posted on: December 28, 2008, 11:22:41 PM
-everything you said about white land-

I see all of this, and say that that's the same way I'd be about Fire Field, especially the orgasmic Brawl remix. I. LOVE. THIS. SONG!

EDIT - Oh [tornado fang], how did I forget THE boss theme from Star Fox 64?

But he didn't post the Airship theme, which is a travesty right there that I was going to rectify after I started my usual StarFox SNES soundtrack is superior to StarFox 64 soundtrack with him!  Laughing
