Microsoft supports the 3 most recent OS at any time.
Thats Vista, 7, and 8.
Until 7 is phased out there wont be a need to switch to 8.
Unless it comes preloaded on the device.
I just like how fast it is compared to 7 and Vista.
I kinda like the start screen but its not a big deal either way.
Its 7 with a screen and apps.

Yeah, 7 does boot slowly. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. I hate that "show desktop" button in the toolbar, because I always accidentally hit it, and then freak out, thinking there's something wrong. Haven't been arsed to get into Win7's guts to disable it, though.

And blargh, I've had a headache all damn day, I'm tired and that third cup of coffee isn't working and I really don't want to drink a fourth. I've been up since 6 anyway.

And I threw my shoulder out again!

My biggest gripe with 8 are the apps.
Not that i mind them but they feel cumbersome and watered down at times.
And i mean apps like IE, Mail, Messenger etc.
Anything you can get an actual program instead of an app get the program.
Using the apps do however make it feel more interesting and fun!
Especially with a touch monitor, which i sadly do not own.

That's what I've been hearing about Windows 8, it's pretty much tailored to touch-screens and tablets rather than old-fashion keyboard and mouse. I'm an old-fashion guy who's been with Windows XP with my older brother's computer, although at the time I had no frickin' idea what I was doing at the very few instances of even touching it and it breaks down because of certain flash sites I've been going to like Newgrounds. Maybe the computer was too sucky to handle some things that aren't even remotely complicated. $:\$
