My guess is something on the server end.  I caught a glimpse at the userlist before the first outage, and it wasn't, from what I could tell, a bot issue.  The server hiccups should clear up, it's possible that the server went down for maintenance.

It seems to have stopped for now.  Do you mean the posts you make as it happens?

When it comes to server outages, keeping your post on your clipboard is helpful.  Also, the data should be cached, so you can hit Back and copy it, then try posting again.  That's what I did with my RP post.

Highlight and copy your post before you post it. As a fail-safe measure.

Yeah, pretty much. When the server times out after hitting post, I can't go back because it'd just give another timed out message. Does a well timed refresh keep the post as posted or does it erase it from the input box telling you that you tried to post with an empty message box?

Well, I'm pretty sure the 3DS at least has a longer character limit than the PSP in terms of making posts.  My previous experience making posts through the PSP usually caps off my posts in less than a couple paragraphs, making long posts almost impossible when I'm away from an actual computer.

I've posted from my phone more than a few times.  Until the iPad, my crappy brick of a phone was my only mobile device.  The character limit was crap, and I was plunking down posts on a phone keypad.
