Also I lost my iPad yesterday, I think it's safe to say that if I somehow don't find it tomorrow it's stolen. I don't care too much, but I'm going to be nervous when I tell my mom, though she would likely not be mad at me but I still feel bad.

I think Quickie mentioned something about a forum software update.

I honestly thought the reason it was down was because it was getting an update.

Though that wouldn't explain why the main site wasn't letting people on either.

The database was refusing connections, as it was stating max_connections reached. This affected the forum, the main site (due to the news forum integration), and some of the oekaki (the index page could be reached and you could log in, without accessing database)

I honestly thought bots had DoS'd the forum to keep the database busy.
