Decided to test a double battle strategy last night to test a theory.  Pierce the Bisharp has Defiant, so I gave him a Persim Berry, paired him with Hypno, and decided to see if using Swagger would also trigger his Defiance and thus stack the Attack boost.  It didn't and Hypno went down in battle, but Pierce still did good.  The opposing Pokemon triggered his Defiance, his Attack went up, Hypno used Swagger, his Attack went up again, he ate his Persim Berry, and proceeded to kick all sorts of ass.

The Attack stacked, but not in the way I thought it would.  Interesting test, and I may try some other strategies.

I was hoping that by confusing Pierce, it'd trigger his Defiance, and his Attack would stack.  But, Defiant apparently didn't treat Confusion as a status change.

I though Defiant was triggered by stat drops. What you intended sounds like Guts instead.

EDIT: From Serebii - "Attack is raised by two stages when the Pokémon has its stats lowered. Doesn't work on self inflicted stat drops or drops from allies."

Ah, okay, that makes sense.  I may play around with the Swagger strategy some more.

Swagger on an Own Tempo Pokemon. They can't be confused, but still gains the att boost. Gives you a reason to train a Spinda!

Make sure Whino learns Thrash. Now it can Thrash without fear of confusion because of Own Tempo!

You're going to actually have to seriously train some Grade A Pokemon for the Maison, seriously that place is not for the people who don't play competitively.

You can also earn BP at the Battle Institute in Lumious. Or be like me, and convert my Bank points to BP.

So far, I have cleared the Single Battles with my game team. Currently at round 15 for Doubles.

Yeah Battle Institute is shorter, though they grade you really hard.

It's not too bad at the BI... Until they start throwing legendaries at you. All 3 slots are legendaries. I managed to beat a team with Suicune, Raikou and Regigigas with my Y team... Which then died to Landorus, Terrakion, and an unknown legend.

Anyway I was thinking of making a Rain Team around Mega Swampert with a Goodra with Hydration, Jynx with Dry Skin, a Whimiscott and an Eletric type Pokemon that is not a Galvantula and I'm leaning towards Magnezone.

I need one more Pokemon for this team.

Who's your Rain Dancer? Drizzle Politoed might be needed, unless your Whimsicott is a Prankster Dancer.

Unfortunately Whimsicott is one of the few Pokemon who can't learn Rain Dance.  Maybe my Gengar, he's pretty fast after all.

Huh. Drizzle Politoed... Or Goodra could Dance, since it's quite bulky. A Dancing Gengar sounds like a waste for a move slot.

Yeah Dancing Goodra would be a good idea, and I can keep Taunt on Gengar for those who Protect/Aegislash.

And there's your six. And since Rain, Magnezone must have Thunder, and Whimsicott with Hurricane because why not. So who will hold the Damp Rock?

Hmmm... Wonder how Mega Swampert's stats distribution is like... Also, since Mega Sceptile is Grass/Dragon... 4x ice... Nice.

Depending on how you get Mega Stones I might get a Sceptile for the game since I already have a Mudkip in Y.  I just need my brother to finally get a 3DS, I'm somewhat hoping that E3 for the PS4 doesn't make him want to immediately buy it.
