At 98 episodes currently it'll still take two years to get through, and they're adding more to that so yeah.

But its still strange, I thought Nickelodeon had the TV rights for Kai? And I thought [as] didn't want it to air because they didn't want to have kids watch Toonami because its on a different channel that's targeted towards kids (Though same excuse happened with Samurai Jack and they went and put that on anyway, and then went along and put other recycled kids stuff on there too.)

Eh you know how those things change over time, if it's popular enough and will get them a lot of money [as] will get it if they want it.

Well, at least its Kai they got instead of classic flavor DBZ.

Apparently they've also got the rights back for Bebop so that'll be coming back, not in HD right away but eventually.

I guess somewhere along the line they mentioned that they were "Looking into" Kill La Kill. Though I honestly thought that was on the "We're never [tornado fang]ing airing these please stop bugging us about it." list along with PSG and probably a few other series.

Yeah I don't think they would do Kill la Kill, even if it is on Netflix now it's probably too short for them, I mean Gurren Lagann never made it either.

Too short? No, its not that. Most the stuff they air are 24-27 episode series.

TTGL would be fine honestly. KLK is just maybe a bit too much? It'd require work done to eliminate... certain aspects.

That is true, I don't think they would risk showing KLK.

To be fair they shouldn't have anything to worry about since Toonami's on at the wee hours of the morning.
Its probably just them covering their asses, that's understandable.

So a few months back I mentioned that Toonami was going to do another TIE in the form of Intruder 2.
INTRUDER 2 Teaser
We've got a teaser now.

Also have the rundown of stuff from Momocon.

Taking over Blue Exorcist's slot, or is that being moved up?

I was watching it as I wrote that (It was 2 so it was on) and it seems like it's almost over so it might just replace it.

Black Lagoon is out soon.
Hellsing Ultimate is set to replace it, according to Funimation's facebook.

Beware the Batman and Sym-Bionic Titan have apparently been "written off" by CN's Legal department.

So this week they're going to wrap up the remaining episodes of Batman (There's like 6) instead of airing the repeat block or Hellsing.
Which means when the block returns to normal the following week, Space Dandy will take its slot as a rerun slot.

That changes the original plan they had, where Dandy would leave off with the boring CGI Star Wars into purgatory, SAC 2nd Gig and Big O Season 2 are coming back again, Hellsing is having an extra long episode at the beginning of October (90 minutes) so Big O will take a break then.

Bleach is finally diluted in November, which everybody presumes will be where DBZ Kai will go.

I really, really enjoyed Sym-Bionic Titan. It's such a shame that it was cancelled.

It was good if short.

Same with Thundercats.

Didn't care for Clone Wars and never watched Batman so not really caring about the removal of those. I imagine this is glorious news to the people who absolutely despise having western animation on Toonami at all (despite it being an ACTION block, not an ANIME block.)

To be fair, Toonami was basically an anime block, when it started out.

On Adult Swim, yes.

Its roots have always been western action animation.

Not really. Toonami was an old school cartoon fest when it started out, with one new show thrown in the mix. The original lineup was Voltron, Thundercats, a mix of classics, then The New Adventure of Johnny Quest. They didn't start bringing in the anime (well new anime outside of DBZ & Sailor Moon) until around 2000 with Gundam Wing and such.

Ah I never knew that since I didn't have Cartoon Network until the 2000s.

Huh, then I guess I never watched it that far back.

The earliest I remember was when they premiered DBZ, Sailor Moon, Big O and all those other anime.

Their DBZ & Sailor Moon stuff didn't come about until around '99, and even then it was just the old stuff they showed on Ch. 11 back in the day. What really put them on the map was when they started bringing over anime like Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, Big-O, as well as actually continuing with DBZ & Sailor Moon. That was huge since Ch 11 stopped with both after a certain point.

Ch 11 is the one that had the Ocean Dub of DBZ, right?
