Now I go back to the old dilemma of deciding what abilities it would get.
Okay, here's some brainstorming. You seem to need ideas to start working on the design, so I'll post the ones that came to mind just in case any of them are decent.
- My idea for the water armor involves the concept of a "Water Tank". It could have a visible meter like another Weapon meter, it could be visible only in the menu like a Sub Tank.
- The Water Tank would fill only while X is underwater, so he can "spam" the armor skills there but have limited ammo on land. X wouldn't have to stand still, it'd fill on the go.
- Wearing any of the parts of the armor should make the Water Tank available.
- the Boots would allow X to perform a second consecutive upwards dash, but this dash would consume water from the Water Tank. Water burst coming from the boots would be a desirable visual effect.
- the Head part would slowly refill X's Sub Tanks while he is standing at the expense of the water in the Water Tank. This ability stops working after each Sub Tank is at 50% of its capacity. So to sum it up, it uses your water to regen your sub tanks 'til they're half full.
- the Body part reduces damage from melee contact (this means it works on enemies and not projeciles). In addition, if you were charging your buster a water burst will push the enemies in a small radius away from X (you know, small enough to get the dude who hit you), causing you to use water from the Water Tank. This burst could or could not cause actual damage to the enemies.
- I didn't think about the Buster part, but the idea is to make the final charge level use up water from the Water Tank so you can abuse it while underwater without worries, and making it more tricky to use it on land.
