In the last few years, I've been developing a lot of allergies. I didn't used to have any allergies, really. Now, I can barely take a step outside without going into a fit of sneezes. I'm even getting food allergies I've never had before. I can't begin to know why this is happening...
Just last night, I broke into hives. Why? I think it's because I started substituting milk with lactose-free milk--due to my lactose intolerance. I started using it in cereal a few months ago and I didn't have any problems. About two weeks ago, I started drinking it during meals occasionally. A week ago, I started drinking it regularly. I noticed some itchy bumps appearing, but I thought they were just bug bites. A week passed and these few itchy bumps had multiplied. Finally, last night, there was a massive break-out of these bumps and they became about 100 times more itchy than they ever had been before. These weren't bug bites, they were hives. I'm taking a break from the lactose-free milk for a few days to see if the hives go away. If they do, I think I have my culprit. I might be fine having it in my cereal, but no more than that. Could my lactose intolerance have transformed into a milk allergy? Not sure.
