One other thing with X1 is that requiring boss weapons for parts was rare (although X6 still one-ups it in that respect). Capsules only required other capsules. And even when a weapon was needed for something else, it at least didn't feel like a mandatory revisit,
X5 had some serious offenses in that respect. McWhalen's capsule requires McWhalen's weapon? Riiiiight. His Heart Tank (as Zero) is best obtained with E-Blade, which comes from the boss you should be tackling immediately AFTER him? Ugh.
Marth: COUNTER!
Yoshi: BrringPOP up and over!
Jelly: Nice!......okay, that's all I've got.
hmm. For my personal opinion, X8 is another. It's music was good, but a few tunes gratedon my nerves, and a few were very forgettable.
Well, many have a "few" tunes that grate on nerves. It's forgivable. Case in point, again: X5. There were a lot of weak entries in that one, considerably more so than X8. But you can't argue with Zero's theme, X vs. Zero, or pretty much any tune related to Sigma.
