ZOE 2 is the only one really worth playing. The first one, as I said somewhere else, aged terribly.

What a class is worth I guess, it's hard to describe.  For example there can be a choice between 6 classes each worth 4 units, but you are only required 4 units so only one class.

No it's more like they are trying to get students out as fast as possible so they put that limit to make you concentrate on that major.  But I don't why it has to be 17 and not 18, there are rarely any classes with a odd number of units.

I'm probably going to be playing through the 1st one at least a few times, the LPer I'm watching says that normal in the second game in the beginning is as hard as normal in the first game towards the end.

hm FF5 iOS looks nice. New graphical style that works, uses the FF5 Advance script (and additions such as new jobs and stuff), and the original  SNES soundtrack.

Pretty much this sums it all up, except I never once played the first Z.O.E before, which is one of reasons why I want the HD Collection for my Xbox 360 so badly. To quote Game Trailers' review of the HD Collection, Z.O.E 1 is pretty much a lukewarm appetiser for the delicious main course that became Z.O.E The 2nd Runner.

On that note, I love the comedy in this game. It doesn't take itself so seriously. It's really refreshing considering so many mature titles nowadays are lacking in comedic value.

Well, the HD Collection was the first time I played ZOE, and to me, it seemed like it did age poorly. It wasn't ohmygodhorrible though and it felt like if I played it back when it released on PS2, I would've fell in love with it.

For today's standards, it wasn't up to snuff at all, unlike the sequel.

you play the first one for trophies, then you just keep enjoying the 2nd game as much as you want. the only frustrating part of the 1st game was perfecting the rescue missions. the rest felt like a breeze.
