I find furry costumes to be neat, as quite a bit of craftsmanship goes into it. I admire the people who have the time, skill, and resources to make such costumes.

Partial costumes look really nice. But almost all full fursuits look a little... stupid, to me. Like mascot costumes, but without the dignity of being a mascot.

Honestly I think people just have so much rage over various things that even the most well-intentioned folks can get the brunt end of it when they snap.

Then there's folks whose jokes consist of them sounding like a snide ass so new members don't get that humor. And as a result... well check that other thread, what happened there finishes this thought.
