Watched Evangelion 1.0 last night. It was pretty good. Although cause I haven't seen the original in forever, I've forgotten a lot. Half the time I as saying to myself "Is that new? I don't remember that."

Jeez, the Clannad dub came out really damn quick. 2 episodes a week, too. I only watched the first one so far, though.
The only real problem is Sunohara. I think Greg Ayres could pull off the role, but he's just using the wrong voice. He's using the wimpy kid voice for a character that isn't that young. It's especially jarring when you hear him next to some other characters; they sound too adult by comparison. Kyou's the best example of that. I think casting Shelley Black was the perfect choice, she pulls off the bitchy mood really well, but she does sound a bit older than the character looks. Tomoyo has a similar issue, but not nearly as bad. Everyone else sounds really good. I enjoyed Matrenga's take on Tomoya. Sanae sounds perfect. And when I read the cast list and saw Luci Christian, I was like "Oh no, not again." I'm surprised, she pulled off Nagisa pretty nicely. The voice isn't as squeaky as in Japanese, but it still fits the character. And looking ahead, I think no one else could dub Fuko's voice other than Hilary Haag.
