I like putting points into things.  It's way better than picking GENERIC FIGHTER CLASS and watching his STRENGTH rise by a fixed number every level.  I think the correct name for this is a "point buy" system.  Unfortunately, I can't find many games where I'm allowed to do this.

Off the top of my head, I can come up with Diablo, Dragon Quest 8, and Final Fantasy Tactics.  Help me find some more.

MMORPGs don't count.  I am also excluding Xenosaga, because I refuse to understand how that point allocation system works.

Didn't know about that in Sonic Chronicles.  Although I'm still a little uneasy about playing recent Sonic games.

Couldn't you do that in Secret of Mana 2... too?

At least you can customize each characters class.

Also Sword of Mana, the GBA remake of Mystic Quest GB.

But I don't recommend that unless you really liked the original.

I liked the music.  Does that count?

EDIT: OH WAIT FOR THE GB.  Then no.

There's the Boktai/Bokura no Taiyou series, starting from the second game you can level up your stats, but there's only like 3 or 4 of them (vitality, energy, strength, speed).

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

Boktai was cool though.

Like Metal Gear meets Caslevania.

I'm adding Dungeon Siege to the list.  That game was pretty cool, but I need something I haven't played.

Is this a game I can read?  Usually the "Something no Something" games don't speak the same language as I do.

EDIT:  Oh, you mean LUNAR KNIGHTS.  I will never get those 5 seconds back.  Good games though.

Not Lunar Knights.

Boktai 1-3, for GBA.

Well, it's part of the same series, right?

Weren't the GBA games all Japanese?

3 out of 4 games were localized, with the 3rd one having a patch available online, so yes. I only added the Japanese name because Konami thought that they could fool gamers by changing the name in the last game to Lunar Knights to increase sales.

Just a small warning, playing an original copy of the first 3 games requires you to be under that big bright shining ball in the sky for important parts of the game.

Only Bokta 3, and that can be patched.

Besides, you'll NEED the patches to get beyond that Sunlight gimmick.

Unless you're playing the second one and don't mind not doing some of the Undead dungeons.

So what happens if Night and Taiyo brofist?

Does that mean it's dawn or dusk?

Or do they fight each other for time of day supremacy?
