I myself am not sure what to think about this. People on 4chan are already pondering if this setting even has enough space inside UC to become a fullfletched Gundam series of 50 episodes. An OVA series seems more likely. Personally, I would have prefered Gundam Unicorn.

And I think it was quite obvious that the 30th Anniversary Project would be something UC related.

Because Katoki is the mechanical designer for this series. But Jesus Yamato, why does it have to be ANOTHER freakin' RX-78? Can't they make a new model? To tell the truth, I've had quite enough of that design after watching 0083. Could they not at least have made it an Alex variation?

They really should've put better security on it too!   8)

I wasn't really talking about the Mark II, but surely there were other Gundam type mobile suits developed within the Federation during that time? Wasn't the Gundam Development Project already in progress at that time? Didn't they make the Alex as well?

Besides the Alex, I'd say the RX-79.

Other than that, I'd say the GP's from 0083.

Heh heh, you beat me to it.

Any way, the thing that excites me, more than anything at the moment?

NO MORE CHILDREN.

Thus far, the youngest person of this cast is 20 years old. We may finally have another Gundam series, free of pilots who have yet to grow a single pubic hair! HALLELUJAH.   0v0

The only other thing I could ask for would be to minimize, or even skip over the whole thing about Newtypes for another UC series. The closer we get to some thing like 08th MS Team, the better, in my opinion.

Eh. While SS was cool, I just always preferred Gundam series that older guys as pilots, instead of fresh-faces.

But Ben. Emotionally, psychologically disturbed teenagers make the best pilots!   8D

Characters that are already emotionally and physically mature aren't that interesting for POV characters. Not to say it can't be done... but seriously now, I prefer to watch a character grow through a series than to watch some hardass plow through everything. <_<

That can wait until after their balls drop. Then they have a right to plow through everything. XD

Needless to say, this one'll probably fly over my head. Bai :3

oh cool, I shall check this out :3.

whilst in my head, a Front Mission anime, would not be too far off from 8th MS Team, aside from well, not being in space and stuff...but that's just me. XD

No new Gundam series this year. Bandai announced during a press conference regarding the Gundam 30th Anniversary that they have no plans for another television series of the franchise airing on Japanese TV this year.

Meanwhile, they've announced that they will build a 1/1 Scale RX-78-2 Gundam statue in Tokyo which will be on display for free for two months. The statue is supposed to be erected in July.

Is that the same 1/1 scale Gundam reported last year?

No. That was an 8 foot tall statue at a train station. This will is going to be full scale, including working steam vents. 78 doesn't have those flight lights on the shoulders, but that's more a legal issue.
