News and Announcements / Megaman's 30th Anniversary Stage Show at TGS
« on: September 09, 2017, 12:28:39 AM »
https://gonintendo.com/stories/289729-capcom-s-tgs-2017-lineup-includes-a-mega-man-30th-anniversary-sta

Well since I unfortunately don't have the qualifications to make a news topic I unfortunately have to make due here unless someone wants to transfer this to the appropriate sub forum.

Anyway in December Megaman celebrate's it's 30th year anniversary at TGS 2017, hopefully the Blue Bomber gets back into relevancy in the upcoming years besides the cartoon which I feel most of us have low expectations for, but at the very least I hope it brings new blood to the franchise and hopefully interests news fans. But as I've learned over the years it's best to keep expectations in check.

I've always scoffed at the idea that the SNES Classic was gonna come out this year, but it's apparently true.

In edition the US version marks the debut of the long lost Star Fox 2!  It also comes with the SNES version of Yoshi's Island and Classic Star Fox which have never gotten VC releases.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/06/nintendo_announces_super_nes_classic_edition

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
EarthBound
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
Yoshi’s Island

It also comes with 2 SNES controllers, however unlike it's predecessor it'll set you back $80.

Either way I'm preordering this thing whenever I'm able to, I cannot miss this one.

I mean 83 is pretty old and all but I'm heavily considering burning 2016 to the ground now.

That and [tornado fang]ing Alzheimers, I know he was extremely lucky in that it didn't [tornado fang] with him as the majority of other cases but that's still worse than Cancer to me........

Gaming / Nintendo to release Mini NES in November
« on: July 14, 2016, 08:05:19 PM »
http://gizmodo.com/nintendos-new-console-is-just-adorable-1783661792

The NES will cost $60 and will contain 30 games, comes with a NES Controller that can connect to Wii Motes as well being able to use the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro with it, and be able to use suspend points in games.  Unfortunately I don't think it can play old NES carts.  Also no Dragon Quest games but there is Final Fantasy and the only Megaman game is of course Megaman 2.

Just saw this this morning but it's a game inspired by Shadow of the Colossus, as well as Dues Ex, Bloodborne and Day Z.  It needs $300,000 to be funded and has 29 days left.

Gaming / Nintendo wants to try their hands in Movies

And don't worry they said they want to try as much as they can by themselves first so there's little chance for having Hollywood [tornado fang] it all up.

Can we say possible Nintendo Movie Universe in 2-3 years? 8D

Fan Creations / Sakura's Creative Happenings
« on: May 02, 2016, 05:55:52 AM »
Probably not the best name but it was something that kind of came up on the spot.

So anyway I'm making this thread for things that I draw and eventually some stories I want to write.  At the moment my repertoire is a bit limited to Pokemon of the roundish variety but here you go in order of when they were drawn.  Some may be rougher than others obviously.

I think running trends at the moment are the need for a fine point eraser, learning how to draw smaller and on the center of the page, and perhaps getting a bigger sketch pad.  That and scanners make it obvious that some of the drawings should be drawn on pages that are not close to each other. Anyway I hope I can post more things as I get better and learn things in terms of drawing stuff.

Gaming / The Ultimate Nintendo 64 Anthology Kickstarter FUNDED!
« on: April 20, 2016, 09:33:41 PM »
So to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the N64 in September 2016 some guys have decided to make an entire anthology of all things 64 and have thus made a kickstarter for the book.  The kickstarter is very well on the way on to their goal, about 2/3's there with the Euro conversion, and with 23 days left but a little extra help and awareness that this is a thing doesn't hurt.  And if you guys have the money if you give at least $91 or 80 Euros you can get 1 of the 500 art books they have detailing the box art of at least 750 N64 games, otherwise the standard editon will set you back by $45 or 40 Euros and the Collector's Edition will be $57 or 50 Euros.  The only difference between the editions are the Collectors editon comes with an extra chapter detailing Advertising of the N64 around the world and a slip cover.

Unfortunately all the exclusive custom Zelda 64 consoles are gone if anyone was crazy enough to give 500 Euros or $569 here.

Now if you'll excuse me I need to deal with that fact that I feel old again.

So after teaming up with Insomniac to help make the new Ratchet and Clank Gamestop decided to go the extra mile to make their own publishing company.  They won't make their own games but developers are welcome to come to them should they need at little help getting their games out there.

Gaming / Use Your Words! FUNDED!
« on: April 18, 2016, 08:13:12 PM »
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/559253918/use-your-words

So yeah of all people Brental Floss is making a kickstarter for a Mad Libs like party game similar to Cards Against Humanity, Quip Lash from Fibbage, some segments of Whose Line and probably some other things that I'm not thinking of.  I imagine he came up with this idea with how many times he does Mad Libs of famous songs at Convetions with hilarious results.  The game is played with any device that has a browser, such as a Smart Phone, Tablet, whatever, or the Wii U Game Pad with a TV or Computer screen.  I think this is similar to how Fibbage works in a way if I remember correctly.

The kickstarter needs to get at least 35,000 to make this a reality with a Steam and Wii U version.  More money means more versions, such as the other current game consoles, Apple TV, Roku OS, and Fire OS, and more party modes.

Here's the pitch video to get more of an idea which is also in the Kickstarter.

DASH / Megaman Legends 2 potentially coming to PSOne classics
« on: March 31, 2016, 06:36:08 AM »
Seems there was an ESRB ratings leak regarding Megaman Legends 2 for PSOne classics yesterday.

While it hasn't been 100% it does seem likely to be true, however only time will tell if and when it'll be released.

Original / Megaman 6 Nightmare Edition Glitch
« on: January 02, 2016, 12:33:19 AM »
*gets out huge ass leaf blower to get rid of dust while continously coughing*

I probably could have picked a better method to get rid of the dust in this corner of the forum.  Anyway the reason I made this topic is because an old member of ours Tek came back for a brief moment a couple of weeks ago but forgot to post this video of this glitch he and his friend encountered in Megaman 6 but also didn't want to feel like shamelessly promoting his Let's Play channel so he asked me to do it.  So behold Megaman 6 Nightmare Edition!

Also don't worry their Let's Plays proper are not recorded in that format if you wanted to check them out. Now why am I calling this Nightmare Edition?  Well that's because it looks pretty similar to something Proton Jon encountered when he dropped his Super Mario 3 NES cart.

Anyway marvel at said glitches and discuss.

So yet another kickstarter, but this time it's not from some developer who left some company and wants to revive a certain series for once.  Kind of.  It's an indie developer hoping to make a game like Power Stone and Custom Robo for Steam, Xbox One and the Wii U.  But mostly Power Stone.

The game has 8 characters but you can make your own characters with the character creation and for some reason it's going to have Oculus support if this thing gets funded.  Yeah I really don't get that either.  They just need $30,000 to make it happen and the Kickstarter just started yesterday.  Also Kirbopher is involved if anyone really cares, but Takahata101 and one of the dudes from Death Battle is voicing 2 of the characters.  Either way I think the game looks interesting.

Oh the cruel irony.....

At least she seems to have taken it well given the circumstances.  Then again she is a comedian.

Once upon a time there was a robot named Robbie.  One day he woke up with no memories and was broken to the point that he doesn't even have functioning eyes or legs.  It is up to you with the guidance of your mother to find the rest of your parts, become completed, and earn our mother's love, which she expresses in questionable ways....

K.O.L.M 1 and 2 is a metroidvania like series with a charming story and a lot of heart even though the games are really short.  However the second game ended in a cliff hanger and the creator couldn't conclude it since he left Armor Games before he could make the third game and couldn't get the rights to conclude it, much to his regret and the disappointment to many a fan.  Now he has asked if he could finally make the 3rd game, but he needs to fund it himself hench the kickstarter.

For this kickstarter not only is he going to finally finish the story of the K.O.L.M series but he's also remaking the first 2 games and a spin off called K.O.L.M.I.M.A or K.O.L.M in a minute, which were originally made with flash graphics, and update it with 3D graphics.  He needs about 25,000 pounds or $42,000 minimum to make this happen.

Please help this poor robot out.

Yeah they're at it again and they want people to vote between 2 Konami games and for 4, technically 5, Sega games.

I personally voted for the Suikoden game and Valkiria Chronicals 3.

Emulation / English Patches where to find them and how to apply them.
« on: September 09, 2012, 07:59:25 AM »
I'm having a little bit of trouble with English patches in general.

I want to play the Snes versions of Tales of Phantasia and Dragon Quest 3 as well as the Mother Games.

The thing is that I believe I found a English Patch for Tales of Phantasia but when I try to apply it it doesn't work.  I tried using the Lunar IPS but it doesn't seem to work and according to the site ZSnes, the emulation program I'm using, could do it by extracting the files but that doesn't seem to work either.  I'm also wondering if there is a site to find multiple english patches for multiple games or do I have to find one for each individual game.

I just don't understand how to apply a patch, I tried reading some instructions but I just don't understand them.  Also I'm not sure if I'm allowed to paste the site with the patch here since it also contains the ROM of the game.
