Oh okay. Well, heck, I didn't know about the Sling Star. That's kinda cool, actually.

EDIT: Whoop. Need to modify something. The Megaleg 2 actually looks like it's holding a regular Power Star. Frankly, that makes more sense than Bowser wrecking the Comet Observatory again, but still leaves the bosses in question.

Loopdeswoop? Hard?

I only died once on my initial play, and haven't died since. Once I figured out the mechanics and utilized braking, it got really easy.

The minigames were okay, just not so big on the falling off.
And I've seen that the new sequel might still have some of that, but I'm still looking very forward to Rosalina Galaxy 2!

...Mario who?

I didn't mind them, in fact, I did go back and play the Bubble Blower stars, but they could be more about skill and specific performance, and less about dying.

And no races.

Zero / Re: Are the Big 4 technically X's children?

Geez, the whole Virus thing is confusing. Is it even Dr. Wily's creation? Wouldn't the Zero and Maverick Virus, then, be the same thing? I'm guessing not. I assume the Sigma Virus is the virus when it follows Sigma's orders.

MHX/IHX almost made it sound like it was derived when X was released from his 30-year diagnostic scan early.
(click to show/hide)

And as far as Mother Elf, I'm guessing that they took the Sigma Virus, Zero nicely isolated it, they found how to undo it, and then created Mother Elf as a massive carrier/distributor for the antivirus.

And it's not like they can't be overcome with some skill or practice, but they're just not all that fun.

Shove all the hard stages and levels into the last world or Galaxy. SMB3's levels get progressively trickier. World 7 and 8 take some learning, although I guess I've played World 8 so much, I can clear it with Regular Mario.

Oh god, that green star .__.

Beware the GIZMOS!

It's fun the first time, because of the OH SHI- factor, but not after that.

Yeah, picky.

Spring Mario in Toy Time and Matter Splatter galaxies.
Any of the alternative control segments (rolling ball, manta ray, bubble blower, etc.).
And just a general amount of bastardry when it comes to the player wanting to explore and goof around, but the environment suddenly ends and that's one life off.

The analogy seems kinda farfetched, albeit with similar circumstances. Metroid Prime was more straightforward than Citizen Kane...

...but, I'm drunk. Don't listen to me.

STOP! STOP JINXING IT!

SMG1 was already picky enough, like SMB3; I don't even want to think it could get worse!

Way to say a whole lotta nothing, Warren. BOOOOOOO! GET OFF THE STAGE!

Nah, jk. Boy...that's a scary thought, gaming only being 30 years old. No wonder we're such pros; most of us have probably been gaming from its public day one, or something very close. Granted, we weren't there to pioneer it like Atari or Nintendo's guys, but look at the "We can rebuild them; we have the ideas" thread, or the countless Sonic fans who know what they want.

We're gold.

I don't know it looks quite ghoulish to me but then again I am not an artist so I wouldn't know.

That's right, it already does, but it shouldn't be that way. Go too artsy, and your game goes the way of Muramasa and Odin Sphere. But go too basic, in this case, and become a commercialized churn out.

It needs a good, happy medium where it can be a stylish, but defined game where your platforms, hitboxes, and objectives are crystal clear; certainly every little bit helps in a world such as THAT.

Well, now, the idea that these hellish creations came from Maleficent, Hades, etc. is much, much better.

I think that it needs to be even more basic a style, and less ghoulish, than that magazine cover art depicts.

You know, UNO and now Sparkster are starting to add up when it comes to my PS3 games. And the trade-in on a 40GB isn't so hot. Maybe I'll keep this console, after all.

Also, I've never played Sparkster. ...first time for everything.

Well I just want it to be harder if your playing with more people, I mean wouldnt it just be easier and not really a challange?

Like the reviewer said in the full article, that really depends.

On small platforms over bottomless areas, it'd be worse.
Boss fights, or in places with a lot of enemies, it's a snap.

Quoth Kotaku:
Quote
Bosses in the campaign include the cast of Koopalings from earlier Mario games. Bowser and Bowser Jr. are nemeses as well. In the one fortress level that we played, the first Koopaling was not any tougher due to four of us fighting him. In fact, even though the platform on which we fought him was crowded with our quartet, he took his beating more quickly.

Ah ha. So the Koopalings will be taking up some of Bowser Jr.'s slots, going by NSMB(DS) standards.

What kind of "devilishly hard" are we talking about, here?

If it's SMB2JP-esque, forget it, this game's going back after I'm done.
If it's SMB3 World 8 with Small Mario Only-esque, fine, I can appreciate a non-cheap challenge.

I'll be a bit disappointed if they're not in Galaxy 2, there's no reason for them to not be there. In fact, it'd be better than the Jr->Bowser->Jr->Bowser-Jr->Bowser from the last game.

Well, we've already seen Megaleg 2 lugging around a Grand Star. Plus, we'd have seen the Koopalings, by now.

Perhaps they'll shift SMG1 Midbosses to Boss status. Who knows.

I have an idea for that, make it Super Nova Bowser and say that he somehow absorbed the energy from that super nova in the ending of Galaxy. It could be cool if done right.

They'd play up Bowser having the same Spin that Mario had. He uses it in the second Bowser battle in SMG1. Where he got it from, I don't know.
Save Giga Bowser for SMG3. OOOOH YES.
Also, I just replayed this game, and noticed Bowser uses that Rolling Bowser attack from M&L3 in SMG1 as well. That's gotta be an SSB4 move, now.

4P multiplayer, co-op, Yoshis, Koopalings: that game is going to ROCK!

So, I wonder what the final boss is? Both games, actually. We already got Dry Bowser...Dry Koopalings? And Galaxy 2; I predict Red Star Bowser. Ooooh, that's a scary thought. Oh wait, since they're shooting for SMW influences, we might see the Koopa Klown Kopter!

Any info or thoughts on the upcoming Wii Mario games, post 'em here!

Looking forward to the Groovy, Tubular, Mondo, Way Cool Spin Jump in NSMBWii!

And, of course, Galaxy 2, more of my girl! Talkin' 'bout, my giiiirl' my girl~~

I'd like to see Bowser go back to being SMB3 badass again. Skulls, military equipment, laser statues, hand of doom, heck yeah! /wii

Don't really know that many names. Certainly not enough to name a "best", they're all pretty good.
I'd go with Capcom Sound Team, but...

Yeah, I hear ya. Thus, Ippo.
