Yeah, pretty sure it quickly became obvious why ninty got rid of Rare. Too bad, too, because I really liked their games.

Banjo-Kazooie was decent fun, at first, but the collecting got old, fast, and so did the slow-ass movement combined with areas that couldn't be accessed until you had a specific power.

Starfox Adventures should have just stayed Dinosaur Planet. Great LoZ clone, but didn't sit well with the Starfox line.

Then of course we know how overrated DKC was, and how it forced Miyamoto to make SMW2 into something like it.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

It took him this long to realise how much Rare has changed? Come on, I thought it was painfully obvious once Ninty sold them.

Might also be the job market; he may have only now found another place to turn to.

Gah, I wish I could play, but I've finished proofreading my Accounting term-paper.

Now I have to actually MAKE the changes, and that'll take another few eons. -u-'

Indeed, there are many games that are better off for NOT having pointing, "waggling", stylus, microphone, etc.

Brawl is certainly one of them, although pointing would have made menus and some Final Smashes more intuitive (Snake, Pikachu, etc.).

The DSi seems like a test platform for various features for the DS2, and the DSiLL is testing consumer reaction to the screen size and probably trying out what would be the DS2's assembly method. I'm not using the camera all that much, although that might be because the quality's lame, and there's no zoom or adjustments. I'd really rather it be a phone than a camera.

Bah, Normal sucks. All of us cool, nerdy cats are Hard-Mode! 8)

At any rate, tomorrow I'm going to try and cram this game as much as possible so that when I make my bi-annual trip to see my best bud, I get to show him all of the game's coolest stuff.

I've been trying to train my brain to look for secrets/Star Coins. SMG still stumped me at times (Buoy Base Green Star), but I'm fairly confident in my NSMBDS prowess.

If the TegraDS is supposed to be pretty darn powerful, and Sony's is supposed to be leading-edge,

...we're in for one heck of a portable gen. For graphical capabilities, I'm going to guess:

TegraDS: Between Wii and 360
PSP2: 360

X5 had better Ride Chaser music!   8D

It's in my head, right now! Oh that's a great tune!

X5's I can understand.  X4's?  Weirdo.

Eh, nothing pleases everyone, I suppose.  As far as I'm concerned X4 is Ride Chaser perfection.

X4's is good, don't get me wrong, but it would PALE in comparison to a properly executed X2.

[tornado fang] that. They just need to make them work better. While I'll defend X8's Ride Chasers to the grave, I do concede they were better in X2,4,and 5.

I really don't like X4's and X5's.

X2's was okay, but I think it was put in a very obstacle loaded segment, so it was more a vehicle than it was fun.

Put the X2 Ride Chaser in a flatter, but appropriately-trapped stage that would otherwise be very long on foot, and give you the option of clearing it either way.

And yes, for the love of Snickers, CO-OP! And Versus!

~The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX~ $8

I have never played this game before.
I know the ending, I know about the seashells, library/Ganon's dungeon, Marin item, and "Thief" bits, but that's it.
I've never experienced the gameplay, though. I'm looking forward to it.

awwwww, I wish I had pre-ordered there, I would have kept that message saved forever >w<

If I had known it was coming, I'd have let Voicemail catch it!

Maybe when I get back from cycling laundry, I'll type a transcript.

So incredibly freaking true.  Blame Miyamoto and his lack of skirt physics.   -_-

And yet NSMBDS had Peach falling with dress-guiding sparkles!

Argh! Now that I remember that, I call BS on that explanation of theirs!

Alright, let's see if I can remember, and this is not verbatim, I assure you...:

"Hi, I'm Charles Martinet, but you probably know me as *switches voice* Mario! Hey! Calling to remind you to pick up New Super Mario Bros. Wii when it-a arrives Sunday at your local store-a! And-a make sure you go to the right-a store, 'cause then you'll walk in and they'll be like, 'Hey, wassa matta with you?! You gotta go to the right store!' Oh, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be great, because for the first time, you can-a play with 4 players simultaneously! You can play Single Player, Multiplayer Cooperative, and Multiplayer Competitive! It'll be super kooky, crazy fun! Be sure to pick up your copy on Sunday, and-a thank you so much for a playing my game! Woohoooo!"

I think that pretty much captures it. And I'm almost sure an audio clip will hit this crazy web any day, now.
If not, well, shoot, I might just pick up the ol' microphone here and imitate it myself just for RPM. Might even throw in a little...KING BOWSER.

Anyone else get the Charles Martinet pre-order phone message?
It was full, FULL of win.

"And-a make sure you go to the right-a store, 'cause then you'll walk in and they'll be like 'Hey, wassa matta with you?! You gotta go to the right store!'"  >0<

But I can wait; I've got a research paper to RE-finish...

There are two major reasons I liked Alia's X8 redesign.

1. Left
and
2. Right

Oh, and:

6. NO. RIDE. CHASERS.

Also, just for Flame,

7. Must have Dynamo pull a GBD at some point in the last stages.  8D

X / Re: What do you want to see in X9?

Story and final boss aside:

1. One good armor for X
2. X, Z, and A all get REAL ultimate armors with post-game Invincibility option for fun-running
3. Closure on the Zero/Wily connection and Axl/virus subplot by having one or both go Maverick at the end of 4-8 stages, defeat 'em, brings 'em back
4. Parts/store only contains alternate weapons, Gigas, and Life/Weapon+'s to a maximum point
5. Post-game unlockable subweapons; X can use the Z-Saber and A-Guns, Zero can use the X-Buster and A-Guns, Axl can use the X-Buster and Z-Saber

I'm sure there's more...

ZX / Re: What's up with ZX3?
« on: November 12, 2009, 06:05:10 AM »
Hard to justify MML3 OR ZX3 when you've got a split core fanbase.

Some like Legends, some don't.
Some thought ZX was better than ZXA, some didn't.

Makes the sales pitch difficult.

If I had bought a smaller HDTV, I might have kept the PS2.

But I need 52" goodness for split-screen. :3

Mine...doesn't. But, my only regret is losing Sonic Mega Collection+ for the save feature, and I just got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for $10, so that takes care of Sonic 1, 2, and Knuckles, standalone.

If I could go back in time and tell my 2 years younger self that Rock Band, GH3, Time Crisis 4, Devil May Cry 4, TMNT: ReShelled, and Brutal Legend were all going to be relative flops, and the PS2 would look crummy on my HD set, I'd have saved myself a loooootta headache.
