Sora had that one form in KH2:Final Mix that had his KH1 self, right? And Anti-Sora?

I wouldn't think it much of a stretch to see a Roxas/Vanitas/whatever form.

Heck, let's make a Whatever Form. Sora turns into a giant white blob with a quadruple Keyblade.

Cons
- No internet or electricity.
- Rule34 will consist of sand drawings.
- No more FAQS.

How will you prepare?  Is handheld gaming the future, or are you going to lug a TV/PC around?  How will you power your system?  I don't know how many windmills it takes to recharge a DS.

Discuss.

1. Look, we know about the key and the kite, right? Can't be too hard to get an electric generator going. Besides, if nothing else, we can use a metric Assload of potatoes. And remember, Nintendium; no matter what kind of fallout and debris, probably about 3/4 of Nintendo systems will still function.

2. SAND DRAWINGS, HNNNNGGGGG

3. No more FAQs? You mean I'll actually have to *gasp* TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT VIDEO GAMES?

And this next one's kinda on the edge, so spoilers:

Grid/SportsMan's stage seems easy. I already figured everything out on the first run; same goes for SheepMan's stage.

Actually, I wouldn't mind it being a little easier, since that'll be fun for speedruns, but it's hard to see people having difficulty with this since MM1-3 threw either comparable or greater challenges at us already.

Oh yeah, and what's this goalie midboss' weakness, anyway? Thunder Wool will go in the air, right? Maybe that.

EDIT: Whoop, I nearly forgot, I LOVE how the Football actually has a different bounce pattern than the baseball. LOVE IT.

And it looks like ProtoMan's going to play a huge role, on the title screen and everything!

If Brawl hadn't messed with priority so much and SSE was about a fraction of its length, the game would have done better.

As it is, pretty freakin' meh.

"Boy, we sure didn't sell a lot of these motion-sensing handheld games."
"Yeah, what are we going to do with all these components?"
"...just...slap them in the DS2 and we'll sell them at the same price again."
"BRILLIANT!"

Really, I mean, if they put it to good use, fine, but those games weren't all that good.
That said, I wouldn't mind some Marble Madness or Kirby Tilt 'N Tumble 2 done this way.

I'm seeing a 3D LoZ that has the very first game's world layout with a little more story and guidance and the combat is akin to Wii Sports Resort's swordplay.

Which is fine, as long as there's SOME kind of guidance. Some story, some reason to care about playing through the game.

And even then, your choices are lame.

Seriously, in the fight against Berial (DMC4) alone I could have thought of 4 different ways to dodge his attacks and at least 1 way per attack to parry with that arm, much less any other creative way of doing him in.

When Action games try to be flexible, it usually backfires or falls flat.

So for me, having a game with limited moves but simple inputs and ONE method of escaping damage is the better route.

Cat ears and tail?
Chozos were birds.

And what is the ultimate bird predator?

(In terms of cliche's, anyway.)

Gaming / Re: Metroid Discussion Thread

Function over form.

Besides that, the Chozo were bird-like; remember, their aesthetics would be different from ours.

So Samus' fearsome ultimate armor would have a cat tail and ears. >U<
Stealth, climbing up walls, falling from great heights unscathed, etc.

They didn't know how to translate the series into 3D. Miyamoto was the one who suggested first person when Retro started developing Prime for the Cube.

Edit: Source.

Miyamoto suggested First Person?

Expect that new LoZ to do much the same.

Really, though, the hardest parts about translating Metroid to 3D would be managing enemy swarms and how the player would see where the heck Samus is going/jumping to. They got the latter down well, but the former still needs work. Thus I think why Metroid: Other M will shift between Third and First Person.

And then a bishie robot with long purple hair tried to kill everything with a GIANT ROCK!

Aldo was using Sliding Haymaker in the RPM Kingdom, but wound up in this dimension and destroyed the giant rock and waylayed the bishie.

Aldo: "...HEY, WHAT THE HECK?! Get me out of here! I've got to get back to my world and get my Keep back! ...ah, a portal."

Aldo exited through the dimensional portal.

I've done this before, it was cake. But I'll be glad to up the record.

Figuring out a safe way to hide from Galacta Knight is the hardest part.

« on: January 03, 2010, 05:55:48 AM »
Having officially completed the challenge, at long last, I can say with 100% certainty that this is doable, and I know all the boss strategies.

The Challenge:

A game of Kirby Superstar Ultra's (NDS) game mode "True Arena" where:
~You may not use powers
~You may not guard
~You may not have or in any way use a Helper
~You CAN use the provided Tomatoes for life up

In essence, you're playing True Arena as if you were playing Kirby's Dream Land.

Are you pink enough for this challenge?

Are you kidding me? 1518?

I know I've done 1600+, though that was when I actually had the cartridge. I'll do a "score-run" soon (no tricks), and see what I can do.

Yeah, it's definitely Q1 2010, now!

I couldn't imagine it being Q2 considering it was in Nintendo Power and everything. They were really close to done, it seemed.

*psst*All the better; I've gotta pace myself on downloading games since I'm 30 Club Nintendo points away from Platinum.*psst*

Thread got me wanting to play SF64 again, so I took Expert and the following hardest medal route:

Corneria-Meteo-Katina-Sector X-Titania-Bolse-Venom 1

Bolse.
Was.
HARD.

Only because I'd keep getting random enemy collisions. Argh! </wii>

You also take double damage in Expert Mode.

Which wouldn't be so bad, really, except you also lose your wings in one hit. Now THAT is nuts.

Who even remembers what 64 Corneria's music sounds like? I certainly don't.

*is currently whistling it*
But Corneria SNES > SF64.

Holy CRAP.

Forgot how intense Venom 1 was. XD

On Expert it's crazy, but Aquas preps you for it well enough, I think. I seem to recall getting the Titania medal on Expert being even harder. I was still new to the game, but I had a decent amount of experience under my belt.

Aquas and Sector Z, well heck, you probably won't know until near the end whether or not you're going to get the medal. Whoo.

Area 6, though? Pfft. Breeze. 300, shoot, they should've made it 400. Unload 2 Smart Bombs on the space mines at the beginning, and watch your counter climb.

...see, I want another on-rails Starfox game that's so good I can spout facts about it, too. XD

Oooh, Starfox love without news? RPM, you rock!

Sin and Punishment 2 is really getting my goat. On the one hand, I really want to play it, but at the same time, what kind of reward am I going to get for buying it? Will it even be fun enough to replay? Is the story worth replaying? How about unlockables? If DQ:Swords, Ghost Squad, and S&P1 were any indicator, I'd say it'll be a rental at best.

Were these questions going through the Starfox crews' heads when they took the series off its rails? Because that's blasphemy; Starfox games have branching paths and enough dialogue and intrigue combined with in-your-face gameplay that keeps it fresh just fine.
