After some rough Brawls, and since it's New Year's, you'd better believe I dipped into my stash of Blue Bomber!

LoL, his Down Smash is easily one of the cheapest moves in the game!  XD

Yeah, but I like THUNDER.

Gets me K.O.s when people least expect it, and protects!

How was I NOT in the Sudden Death of that Spear Pillar match?!

And now we're at the lag. So, I'll drop out.
Fun stuff, except for the very costly lag. Y'all take care!

Also, hey PB Wolf,

PIKAAAAAAAA!

Me winning, that's what!

And I rarely EVER get the Smash Ball. Comparatively speaking.

Lol, Mario Finale.

Well, now, that was a pretty good match!

Apparently, I'm better at Pokemon Stadium 2 than I thought.

EDIT: UP, B! UP!

Figures, I'm here half the day all by my lonesome, and you start the New Year's Bash without me.  =P

Well, HERE I COME!!!
(taking a few minutes to download/play HyperSonic's stage, if we're still doing that)

You know, it turns out we can't play Custom stages online.

Oh well. Nice present, anyway.

After one more Brawl, I'm going to go bust out the drinks.

And hopefully dad's in an okay mood considering all the outrage I'm spouting in here.

Yahoo news made it sound like they cut back on the celebrations, economy and all.

Did they?

That'll work! 8)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing for a bit now. Ah well, when they come online and are ready to play, I'll be ready.

Then I'll try and shoot for from 11:00 P.M. to 1 A.M.

Last time Naka made something to rival Sonic, we got Billy Hatcher.

You really want to play those odds?

Anything would be better than what Sonic Team has shoveled out, lately.

Tch. Yeah, I forgot all about Magma Man. Hot really is superior.
Nevermind that Splash Woman is hot.

COME ON, NAKA, TAKE 'EM DOWN!

I'd do it myself, except, y'know, lack of cash.
...and programming knowledge.
...and artistic ability.
...wait, staff.

Still.

yknow, I kinda prefer the original design concept on the left...

I'll bet they probably thought it was too much like Mr. Famous to keep.

Also, what the heck, I'll request some stuff.

If you've got any Hyper Roll (MvsC) or Gold Armor X (MMX3) art, I'd be tickled pink (and then I'd go back to changing colors 8D).

I love to hear Remixed and Rearranged songs, but then it bugs me when they stray too far from the original song, especially in the name of "art" or "validation of the artist".

Sure, you add measures and melodies to existing music, but do they really fit?
Some people are good at it; U-GEN's remix of the X VS. Zero Battle in Megaman X5 gave the song more length while the melodies still contributed to the overall tone and pacing of a rather delicate piece.
But then sometimes, these songs should just be left as is.

That said, I've got my own ideas as to how a few of the Mega Man 9 Arrangements should have been treated. This has looping tracks of "Magma Burning" and "Wily Machine" that more closely match the in-game track. Be sure to support III, Inticreates, and Capcom in their endeavors.

Like I say, I'm always finding songs that need this treatment, so I'm going to leave this thread open for as long as I can; it's not everyday I have the time or will to crack open Audacity and rearrange songs.

Posted on: November 10, 2008, 09:28:02 PM
Mmmhmm, well, now that I have a tablet and Audacity, looks like I'll be doing quite a few things.

Besides the card game, I've also been toying with what certain songs sound like in reverse. Very few sound all that good (obviously), but there have been one or two shockers. Case in point, Comet Observatory from Super Mario Galaxy actually sounds like it could be a workable song in reverse. Now cleaning it up to make it sound like a new, valid song would take quite a bit of doing, but here's a clip of it anyway:

Gaming / Re: What makes and kills replay value for you?

Oh yeah, no question.

But then, Mega Man doesn't die. Ever. He has come close to it in endings, but that's it. As far as gameplay goes, he doesn't. So then, the player shouldn't either.

But even if you don't follow that school of logic and accept that the character is just that good whereas you're not expected to be as such, then there's still the matter of it killing the fun. Quick Man's lasers. You would have to know that layout in order to survive. Now considering they're "security lasers", it makes sense (wait, why don't we have those deadly things IRL?), but it's just further frustration to the player. And it's not a matter of having one screen come up quickly and then you can hopefully plan your path; there's 1 or 2 parts where if you fell down the wrong way, or not far enough, you start over.

This is where multiple modes of difficulty come into play, I believe. Easy or Normal for a fun feel to it, then Hard for a genuine challenge. Go too far (some Treasure games' Hard Modes, most shmups, DMC's insane modes, etc.) and then you kill the interest except for the absolutely OC or SM types.
