Gaming / Re: Super Smash Bros. Bitchslap: What Do You Want To See In It?

Graphics
~Make the menus a bit darker.
~Free up the camera! Naughty shots are going to happen no matter how much you try to avoid it, and it's not going to change the game's rating!!!
~And make snapshots JPG's or something usable! Really, Nintendo, ****!

Audio
~Less orchestra, more rock.
~Same level of variety.
~Better F-Zero songs.
~...what happened to the DK Rap?! Put that back in!
~Be able to use songs on your SD Card to add to all levels (but you have to add them; it's not automatic.)
~More poignant sound effects (SSB64 level).

Roster
~Shorten it to 30, not including double characters (Zelda, Samus, etc.)
~Sonic and Snake, do what they want. Buff Sonic a bit to where he actually can K.O., and/or nerf Snake a bit and take out his infi-tricks.
~But Mega Man must be in this time, provided Megaman Scramble Battle isn't made. (I was going to suggest the TMNT in a Pokemon Trainer fashion, but we already have a TMNT fighter coming that's much like Brawl, so no need.)
~Ridley, for pete's sake. Just make a Bowser or Charizard-sized Meta-Ridley.
~Rosalina is a must. Luma is optional.
~Axe either Falco or Wolf, give the surviving character a Meteor Smash as instantaneous and useful as Melee Falco's. (See, now Falco has to be in just the right position to use that spike; wasn't the case, before.)

Gameplay/Mechanics
~No stickers.
~No convoluted Adventure Mode. Have an overarching story, just don't make it a platformer.
~Keep co-op.
~No more ridiculous achievements or Trophy Stands.
~Buff the Shield. Yes, it's helpful against Metaknight, but I've had enough of trying to shield against attacks, then they still work. Shield cancels all until it runs out (hence, why even bother having the shield breaking in the first place). This will also give Heavy characters who already have a large/better shield the edge they apparently still need.
~Give all characters a "Counter", perhaps as a result of Perfect Shielding. Replace "Counter" specials with other moves. EDIT: WHOA, and if you do that, increase the timing window on the Perfect Shield.
~Increase the range of grabs done by hand.
~Change. Ganondorf's. Moveset.
~Buff Mario!
~No Demos, okay? Thanks. Use that space for something, y'know, USEFUL. Leave VC demos to the VC.
~Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard. End of story.
~And don't flood the 1P mode with Giants, Teams, and Metal characters.
~Axe Home-Run Contest; Revive Board the Platforms. Make them character-specific, and only passable by knowing each character's advanced movement techniques (for example, Pikachu crawling under some hazard, or Sonic using Homing Attack on a target waaay out to the side).
~And, as always, remove the infinite loops. Metaknight, Sonic, whoever's got 'em, take 'em out.
~Same for chainthrowing. Ice Climbers, Falco, etc.

Wow that's something you don't see every day....and you have to pre-order it?  Also anyone else notice a typo in the article?

"When the folks at Mnemosyne aren't busy running MMORPG Rubies Of Eventide, the busy themselves with other pursuits,"

Yeah, but typos are common, there. Apparently humanity can't function correctly without Microsoft's spellcheck, and even that shouldn't be relied upon.

Anyone know who made this? (Found on Photobucket)

Looks like the X sprite from this little project:

eccometroidvania?

That's a better description.

It's not entirely Ecco, and it has the exploration/items of Metroid, and the combat of Castlevania.

The Crash Bomb management is not memorization, it's basic mathematics.  Unless for some reason you were using it before the fight, that is.  Even so, all you have to do is camp on your next life.
And if MegaMan was a shmup, that would mean something.
I know, but that's the problem!

Now my poor brother Mario thinks he's a monkey!
Once you have memorized MM9's layout, there's not a whole lot left to the game (sans DLC; I'm talking about the core package).  It's otherwise dirt simple.  That's the imbalance.  I don't mind hard or easy games, but that specific combination comes off as unrewarding.

You know how HARD it is to camp in that stage?

Any game becomes easy after memorization. Even Star Fox 64 has that element.
But the Hero and Superhero modes, I eventually wound up buying because I'll never want to memorize three layouts, which should keep the game interesting. One layout, two layouts; second nature. Three? Too much to keep up with.

The size ratio really bugs me. Like MM7 bugs me.

On top of that, the aforementioned dark/cyan mermaid really turns me off to this game; it's just Mermaid Metroid, and I barely like that series (but Ridley is too entertaining to pass up).

On top of that, it's conveniently full, covering everything, and yet Terra is completely bare.

Confusing game.

Wait. Unless they're not shooting for equality, and this game's for the guys. I don't want to see man-parts, anyway.
But a bare Terra? No, doesn't show lady-parts, either, but one's more suggestive than the other.

Have I done this before? Some of the folks over at GAF were doing a rant on Brawl and Smash in general and I happened to share a few notes with them from my own mind. I was wondering if I've done the same over here as well. The post is spoilered below due to size, but it's not too terrible. I'd love to know what RPM has to say in response as well, so be sure to leave a response or two should you read it.

(click to show/hide)

Roster was conservative for a reason: Leaves room for "improvement" for the sequel. Also, the roster for the first time CUT characters as well as okaying clone variations. Now while Ike is a better variant than Roy, Captain Ganondorf is inexcusable.

64 controls poorly compared to Brawl. It also doesn't have dodging and other mechanic features that make Melee and Brawl better. However, the design teams have felt the need to treat Brawl as a "top-shelf" game, meaning that it sacrifices the frantic, fun feeling you remember from the 64 version to prevent the series from staling with each release. Sadly, I believe they're right, and it helped to be "sterile" like that when Sonic and Snake were announced. The additions seemed more valid, and less like sales gimmicks. I still contend, though, that the artistic design and audio clips (see: Bob-Ombs) could "bend the rules" and make Smash fun, once again.

Lastly, no Smash game is balanced. Not 64, not Melee, not Brawl. They're all broken; they all have glitches, and Nintendo has this immutable fanbase that wants to **** every game they get their hands on, including the Mario Kart series (i.e. Snaking in MKDS). Until Smash's mechanics reach a point where EVERY exploit is finally eliminated (unbreakable chainthrowing, infinite loops, etc.), Smash will (unfairly) never be held as a fighting game.
That said, it's no less broken than other fighting games, and it's probably better than most if only because of its fast, simple, and intuitive controls (no input strings) and because of its ambition in offering the players a wide and balanced variety of fighting styles, strategies, and items.

That's the worst case of wild growing pubic hair I have ever seen.

Isn't the Mentos trick with Diet Cokes?

Either way, I saw it on Mythbusters. You need a ton of Mentos per bottle/2 liter, and the introduction of the Mentos into the soda has to be very sudden.

Item fuckery was one thing. Peach floating around as if carried and protected by the hands of some unknown deity was enough to utterly break my spirit tonight.

Oh, I just finished a couple of rounds with a CPU Lv. 9 Peach the other day.

Her aerials are something else, and the CPU likes to spam 'em with perfectly spaced Small Jump/Hover combos.

Fortunately for me, Falco's Down+B makes quick work of floating Peaches.

You'd think they'd have fixed this!

Really. I know Mario Kart Wii is a bit more simple, but by how much? Really?

They could up the power and server count for BRAWL.
