So...wait, what was the announcement that was supposed to make the Wii better than the PS2?

Although between SMG2, NSMBWii, M:OM, and S&P2, if they're executed correctly, I think the VC and these games combined could very well beat anything the PS2 had to offer.

Well, it's going to take picture-perfect execution. I don't know if Team Ninja can do that or not.

And mainly, the FPS is for bosses and very weakness-specific enemies. Like freezing that tentacle.

I hope Other M is executed very well, because it pleases me greatly to see a game (much less, a Metroid game) that combines FPS, TPS, and 2D in a way that gives the player the combat versatility to have the precision of FPS, the dodging and collision-damage evasion of TPS, and the range of attack of 2D all in one cinematic package.

I still say that no company 'won' E3 this round, but if Nintendo does what I think they're setting out to do with SMG2 and M:OM (...mom?...MOM?!), then I would be more than glad give the honors to Nintendo after-the-fact, because this is some difficult stuff they're about to try.

Well, Miyamoto did want it to play more like SMB2USA.

And the chief differences in that game compared to the others are:
A) A greater number of platforms, and
B) Picking up items.

...well, other than multiple playable characters, but I figure Yoshi has that covered.

No kidding. You didn't even need the side or triple jumps. The long-jump was only moderately necessary.

Although, SMG1 had its crazy moments. But not impossible. We'll see if Nintendo crosses that line.

Just watched the Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer.

Stage design. Was. PERFECT.

I'm not done watching everything from E3, yet, but...man...I mean, it had everything, Yoshis, carrying items, exploration, familiar enemies, a greater variety of locales that were more open, required a bit more skill, goals/tasks (the snowball and ice sculptures), bosses, drastic stage changing (freezing the entire stage's water), the limited-visibility puzzle,

It's...it's...not a rehash. It's a much improved SMG. Now, let's see what happens to the multiplay.

I just realized; that Fire Flower is sitting on a row of blocks and the 3D games don't usually have brick rows except for SMS.

Not with that style Fire Flower.

Man, if I had PSP7 right now, I'd be Burning and modifying color levels like crazy trying to figure this out.

First things first, is to remove a whole ton of Blue, then get the Fire Flower to match its art-level color, then up the contrast to better analyze what those other two objects are.

Holy cow, that top left is a Fire Flower.
But what's so remarkable about that? Both NSMB and SMG had Fire Flowers; why do this?
...wait...then is that supposed to be the...no. Nah, it couldn't be an SML1 remake. Something fishy going on here, that, or Nintendo's running out of ideas.

The "Cactus" actually reminds me of Statue Mario. Which...actually, wouldn't be a bad suit to have in SMG.
