Well, I'm changing my opinion of SMB3 from "Meh." to "Pretty decent!"

What caused the change?

Pros:
~Short stages. Makes gameplay addicting.
~Reasonable difficulty. If you do die, it's just a simple matter of picking yourself back up and giving it another go.

Cons:
~Amount of focus required gets annoying. Projectile, enemy, and hazard movement patterns aren't hard, but don't let you by any means whiz through the stage, either.
~All the cool new suits don't last long, do not appear as frequently. This goes back to the above, but it's also more about the suits not showing as frequently.

So as far as being some sort of glorious "standard" by which new Mario games should be made, it fails at that. But it does showcase some things done the right way.

The first time I played X6, I thought Capcom was trying to imply that humans were going Maverick due to the virus, and I was thinking:

"Oh ho, here comes the 'X has to choose whether to be a Pacifist or actually wipe the floor with their butts for the greater good.'"

Nope. Just trying to be EDGY LOL

Goodbye, guro! Yaoi and yuri need to be on that list, too.

There's a lot of these that are borderline crimes, but at the same time as these shouldn't be glorified, it is just fantasy. I think this also bans tentacles, too.

That dog don't hunt, monsieur. </fry>
If indeed this is legit.

Not so much a day as it was the last few days.

Okay, so, start off with Saturday. I didn't do anything during the day but replay some old games like MMX1, SMG1, FF7, etc. About 7:00 PM, it gets to be time for the party in a backwoods town about 20 miles away with some younger female friends of my next door neighbors'. Yes, drinking is involved. No matter, though, I bust out the Seagram's Classic Lime and Jamaican Me Happy for them and the Corona for me; little did I know they made strong Jello Shots (should be one of Double's attacks >0<). So there's one girl there that, I find out later, everybody's trying to play Matchmaker with me and her. She's...okay...didn't really want her.

...until...

We got to talking (and playing a little Dr. Mario), and suddenly, she's the warmest person emotionally I've ever dated. My objection to her already having a kid? Poof. Gone. The physical things I noticed? Diminished. Well, it's getting to be about 1:00 AM, I'm still awake, so, what the hey, we talk some more. ...and a little more. ...and now it's 2:00 AM, and I'm too tired to drive back (we didn't even drink all that much). She's still on the couch, and there is a spare bed...but it's kinda small. ...I drag the loveseat over and make a makeshift bed, and yeah, we both cuddled the whole night. Caresses, 1 kiss turned into 2 turned into a whole string of 'em, nothing serious, though. It's. About. Time. 0v0
Maybe we'll work; maybe we won't. But considering what all we did, I think it'll be juuuuust fine. [eyebrow]

So, still happy as all heck, I'm blaring my CD including some TMNTIV tracks the whole time I'm driving that day into town to treat dad to a Father's Day at Cheddar's. Do some chores, get ready for the work week, do some Facebook stuff, yada yada.

Work. Ugh, work sucks, especially training. If there's one thing Texans can't seem to do well, it's train people. Too bull-headed, I guess. At any rate, finished up with work, took a nap, then worked out and got all the stuff I posted on the "Latest Buys" thread. I try to put the Wii Remote into the Zapper, but...something's not right. Wait...no, it can't be. YES, IT IS, WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN the Wii MotionPlus is too big and won't fit in the Zapper!!! FAIL! Now I'm going to have to mod this...this THING! And, of course, nobody has a Y-Key or screwdriver to modify Nintendo's [sonic slicer]. But hey, know what? Don't care, 'cause Saturday night/Sunday morning has got me feeling too good!
EDIT: I'd still search the ends of this planet for the right girl, not just locally.

2 shirts
4 Lean Pockets meals
Pack of Solstice '5' gum
Wii Zapper + Link's Crossbow Training

The MotionPlus doesn't fit in the Zapper...fail.

Legends is so not Megaman.

End of story.

The more Bass.EXE the better.

PREHISTORIC ZERKERSAURUS
NET SURFIN'
NEON WAVE RIDERS

It'll be interesting to see if MM9 RMs and Duo make it in. Galaxy Man fits both themes, as do Star, Cosmo, and Planet Man.

Where the [tornado fang] is Duck Hunt?

Definitely this, too.

But then I push all those lightgun games a lot.

I'm not sure what's up with all the hate, but I like the idea of bringing back EXE's style of gameplay (although we should have seen this coming considering how EXE3 functions).

Also, we know where Clock Genius fits in, now. He might even cause the situation that lets the Mega Men meet like this.

Yeah, there's already a Toon Zelda. And, best of all, it allows Nintendo to stretch their wings and try some newer things, but keep the series' image okay if something goes awry. Same for the Mario RPGs; let the other guys take the heat.

On that same note, though, I'm not sure I can entirely blame BioWare for Sonic Chronicles. Yeah, the gameplay needed some work but with the music and graphics at a loss and a time deadline incoming, I'm not sure if there were some other parties messing with the entire game's production.

Ahh, TMNT3 Turtle Select! owo

In addition to the TMNTIV remake (that will hopefully be on Wii), I really hope they put TMNT 3 on the VC. ...maybe 2, but that one's a bit harder.

If ya saw the X3 animated intro, you definitely saw X's hand go back into his buster. I'd say it just kinda folds up/deconstructs from there.

And the whole Shining Finger thing in MHX definitely seems to show that X can reroute energy to it. Of course metal is a great conductor anyway, but the point still stands.

(You, Karmen, and one other Magikoopa that will run away. Unlike SMRPG, I'll actually have those 2 of my Troopas with me instead of being completely SOL.)

Wait, that might be only in my case!  Nevermind!   8D

Right hand takes care of both. Lefty's the wingmanhand.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10

Very cool, although I'm having to get used to hitting at certain percentages of power, and its putting grid is different from Mario Golf and Hot Shots Golf, so that's a TWEEST.

I highly doubt that Super Mario Gun 2 OR 3 will ever be as good as Super Mario Bros. 3.

*cue "I Am All of Me" and a city background for Mario with the Super Scope*

Well the Drill is a good sign, and the Bee Suit lasted for a very reasonable length of time. Granted, though, the Boo Suit was only good in certain situations. So now, this Drill is a semi-permanent item and you carry it around and use it wherever (probably will be used for discovering secrets, too). Yoshi is not a suit, but all the same, we know he's worthwhile. A definite step up, and there might be more on the way. Seeing Mario freeze the water like that in the trailer seems to indicate that Ice Mario is either gone or will only be in certain stages (which is as it should be since it has a freakin' time limit).

I say I couldn't see Mario ever going down the same path Sonic did...

...and yet I thought Sonic would never go down that road, either. As much as it is a hindrance to creativity, Miyamoto is right to smash the added storyline. But, it is nice to have some blurbs like SMG1 did.

Of course, now that I've defended the status quo, I will say that these numerous sports, party, and Minis-esque spinoffs (that aren't RPGs) aren't helping any. Mario Kart, Dr. Mario, and some others; fine.

And in that sense, you were right. And actually, I kind of like the idea of having 10% of the stages back. Not just because it'll let the new guys get adjusted to the new mechanics and interface, but it'll be a bit nostalgic!

...yes, I realize SMG1 is only a few years old... :V

I've been one of the most annoyingly repetitive advocates for a Super Mario Galaxy Lost Levels type thing, and I'm sure many people had the same idea, so now it seems Miyamoto also reads thoughts for a living. (No wonder he has to keep his hobbies a secret...)

Thankfully, it looks like Miyamoto and the level designers didn't give you your exact wish.

Lost Levels implies some extremely nasty level design, the kind you have to memorize or know ahead of time in order to barely pass. But instead, they're channeling SMW which means just a little difficulty step-up from SMG1, but with more mind-bendingly hidden secrets. Heck, I had to GameFAQs the green star in the Buoy Base Galaxy (of course at that point, it was just to save me the time of exploring the entire underwater section; same for the trial and error of the Shiva and Bahamut Aeon Temple 100%'s in FFX).

Really, I don't even know if they'll make an SMG3, but it seems like a very nice way to cap a console that did about as well (if not better than) the NES. Frankly? I think the Wii, for all of its shovelware, has more games worth playing than the NES ever had. Even ExciteBots is better than Rad Racer.

*Aldo has 9 Troopas remaining. 3 Goombas, 3 Terrapins, and 3 Magikoopas.*
